Division No. 2 Cheap Vacations

The main building was a little rundown but decently clean including washrooms. The atm and the bottle filler were broken but reception said that the restaurant could help me fill my water bottle. It was quite smoky while we were there and I noticed the outside doors to our residence (the rooms are in separate buildings on the grounds) were propped open by rocks. I didn’t want to touch them in case someone was bringing things in but did ask the reception about it as I am sensitive to smoke. I was told that maybe house keeping propped them open and basically that I should just close them myself. I was headed out so I did not, but I was surprised reception couldn’t just ask a staff person to close the doors. Our building Golden Eagle was again a little run down but decently clean except I could smell the faint odour of cigarette smoke mostly between the two doors to the outside. We struggled to open our room (with an actual key) because we assumed the key worked on the dead bolt. We eventually realized that the key only worked on the door knob and that the deadbolt could only be locked manually from the inside. Upon entering the room I was relieved to see that the room, although dated, looked clean. However there was some kind of substance on the fridge door, but I just cleaned it myself. 1107 was overlooking dumpster but last few rooms avail so not surprised. Generally, felt comfortable in the room and we did have a nice time in Waterton.
