"The apartment was great, very clean. It was nice having access to a washing machine. My only complaint is the noise from the restaurant below that would go till 11:45pm some nights."

When I alerted the owner of the apartment whose wife is a doctor, they said it was mosquito bites. Later we found tiny insects behind the bed and the sofa bed. Moreover, the property is nice but it just needs a weekly clean as when I arrived there was dust everywhere and I am allergic so I was sneezing a lot. It was advertised as having AC, but only had one weak portable unit that couldn’t cool the home below 27C (80F), making it unsafe for our newborn who was overheating and crying nonstop. On top of that, we were warned not to use multiple electrical devices at once or risk losing power—making it impossible to use fans or cool the space.Worse, the water heater vented directly into the kitchen, filling the home with gas whenever hot water was used. "Apartment was as advertised. Just an FYI, the stairs to get to the upstairs bedrooms are very steep. Very nice apartment. Would stay there again if we go back. "

Entrance and access were convenient and easy, location very good, with bus stops within a 2-3 minute walk, the Lido/Cassarate area only 12-15 minute walk, and downtown only a 20-minute or so walk. The building was modern, and accommodation was very nice. Murphy bed very comfy, good kitchen and a very good bathroom with a rain showerhead. Nothing but nice things to say...we really loved it! "

"Beautiful spot, but difficult to access without a rental car. We were travelling on foot/train/bus and we had to rely solely on the 2 or 3 taxis in the township. The walk was ok downhill, but very arduous going back (We're in our 70's). We chose Varenna as it much more affordable than Ballagio, and the views are simply breathtaking. With a car, this would have been perfect, but we also found that the locals were very accommodating and actually took us home in their own vehicles a few...
