The staff is superb, the room was well taken care of and very comfortable. The onsen is incredible. My wife and i stayed two nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We did in-room breakfast which was delicious, we also enjoyed one night of their dinning experience in the basment. The proximity to the train station is very convenient as well! I felt well taken care of and that the stay was worth the money. From the moment you are greeted at the door of the hotel, you leave the hustle and bustle of Tokyo behind and you are immersed in an authentic ryokan experience. The private onsen on the top floor of the building really sets this hotel apart from other luxury hotels in Tokyo. The atmosphere was very tranquil and calm and everything was always taken care of, even sometimes before you ask for it. I would highly recommend this hotel for people who want more space in their hotel rooms, higher quality of products and service, and who want access to a natural onsen in the city. I had two young kids with us and they loved it too. The hotel is in the business district of Tokyo, but it is so close to Tokyo Station and the metro is linked underground to the hotel (with 4 or 5 different lines), so it was very easy to get to anywhere. As explained to us, a ryokan is traditionally an inn in Japan. At the Hoshinoya, this translates into a large common area with an assortment of tea, coffee and snacks available 24/7\. Room was large and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Service was friendly and reliable. The hot springs on the roof is a unique amenity.
