"I love this place. Next time I wish I could have a better view. I went there before the new rooms were added. Every time I went there, I stayed in the main building right upstairs from the check-in facing the water with my husband and I absolutely loved it. I was actually married there in the old ballroom. I was put in a room that I faced the side of the building and parking lot. I like it there because you can have your meals there if you want they should put a microwave in the rooms. I grew up there on the shore when I was a kid so it is a very pretty place. I think it’s understaffed. I saw the same woman there almost 3 shifts in a row. I think she was a manager. She was delivering drinks, which I thought was crazy and then I saw her the next morning at breakfast time being the hostess, I said to her, don’t you ever get a day off she said thank you for noticing. She was a very pleasant, nice woman, but I think it’s understaffed. I stayed there during the wrong time of year. It was spring break. Children were running up and down the hallway, which was not appropriate And they were with a parent. That’s what really got me - back in the day when I was a parent of young children, I would never let my children run up and down the hallways but times are different now -not for the better!!!"

"THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN, QUIET AND BEAUTIFUL. I GOT THE WATERVIEW ROOM AND IT WAS PERFECT. THE SHADES WERE ELECTRIC AND ALL TECHNOLOGY WAS UP TO DATE."

"The owner was so helpful and friendly. When our car wouldn't start due to a dead battery, he called a friend to drive over to give us a jump (since the owner's car was a hybrid and he couldn't access his battery). The grounds are beautifully landscaped with lots of blooming trees and flowers. It's very conveniently located with a great cafe across the street."

"Hotels in New Haven are pricy and outdated. This one is the exception. It looks brand new, very contemporary design, and it is very well priced. The room was comofrtable and modern, I got a corner one with two windows, which makes it very bright. I also had a nice desk, very convenient for work. It is a little more far away from Yale, but it is worth the 10 minutes walk. The only thing I would have liked is to have free breakfast"
