"We had a wonderful stay here during a Finnish heatwave. It's a beautiful residence which was the home of a famous Finnish author, and is quite charming in its authenticity and spacious nature. It's also perfectly positioned next to Lake Saimaa with a small beach area and a larger dock that can be used for fishing or deeper swimming. The sauna is fantastic - well worth a go, particularly as you can jump straight into the lake after. Also worth praising the host Eeva - she lives on site and will talk you through anything you might need to know and is always on hand to help out or show you walking trails or the best places to pick berries.
