The place is wonderful. It is so peaceful, surrounded by nature (field, trees, flowers and sheep). Our room was super clear, spacious and very comfortable. No TV in the room which is a blessing! Breakfast was plentiful and we were happy to chat with our host Bill who is very knowledgeable about the area's history and culture. Staunton has a lot to offer and is a nice destination. It is a cabin with modern conveniences. The room was clean and tastefully furnished. Coffee was provided in the room. I was impressed that the bathroom provided a magnifying mirror for applying makeup.Bill, the owner, is a wealth of information about the Inn and the area. Nine generations of his family have grown up here. It's a short drive to Staunton, so there are plenty of restaurants to choose from for a meal. Breakfast is provided at the Inn.Guests have access to the commons area, which includes dining tables and chairs, a tv, and a fireplace. We were encouraged to take our games there to play after dinner.We're already discussing another trip to the Inn at MeadowCroft, You truly feel as though you are taking a step back in time. ##### Violet E. The area's wine culture was the draw for both of us but history was a must have for me which is why I chose Meadowcroft. The greater property was serene and the inn's grounds were quaint without pretension or gimmicks. Bill and Anetha were welcoming and the conversation was never dull. If you want the bustle of the town, Staunton is only is only 15-20 minutes down the road. The cabin is truly unique and amazing. Of more interest is both the history of the buildings and the owner. The details are perfect. The owner is a modern day encyclopedia on the Staunton area, going back to the 17th century. Our room was cozy, clean, and decorated with amazing historical touches. The host was very accommodating and welcoming. The rest of the property was amazing in itself! We went hiking and biking in the area. And, there are plenty of breweries and wineries to choose from.
