The only place to stay

Lovely guest house - if you are staying in Swellendam, then this is the only place to stay! Clean, fresh & friendly with tropical vibes and tasty & healthy breakfast :)

Great hotel in Swellendam

A lovely property with friendly hosts. Room was really nice as were the grounds and the pool area. The breakfast was amazing and beautifully presented - the best we had during our stay in South Africa. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely property and clean pretty room. The couple running the show were so lovely and friendly. Happily changed our dinner reservation for us as we did not have SA mobile minutes and gave us a great lunch stop recommendation on our way to the airport. The breakfast we delicious! And we were welcomed to a celebration gift in the room. I would recommend staying here for those travelling in Swellendam.

Swellendam Excellence

Jan and Vivianne were lovely attentive hosts. Mature gardens and pool area were a pleasure to be in. Good breakfast with continental and cooked options. Comfortable super king bed, with large walk in shower. Quiet location, handily situated opposite a good pizza restaurant, close to excellent restaurant La Sosta, and a 20/30 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) into centre of Swellendam. Good stopover for the Garden Route, with handy hikes and trails nearby, and access to amazing De Hoop Nature Reserve. Highly recommended.

Definitely recommend a stop here.

The guesthouse was really beautiful and looked as if it was brand new. We only stayed for one night but we got some great tips on what to do in Swellendam and even for the rest of our trip. The breakfast was also really good! I would definitely recommend to stay here, for the beautiful place and the nice reception by the owner.

Very helpful owner & staff

We enjoyed a couple of nights stay, the owner was very helpful going out of her way to offer advice on local things to do and restaurants & staff even cleaned your car. The rooms were a little small for people with a lot of luggage as there wasn’t a lot of wardrobe space but this wasn’t a problem for staying a couple of nights. On arrival, I thought that the lack of air conditioning would be a problem as it was @ 30+ degrees outside, however once the windows and French doors were opened it cooled down very quickly & there is a ceiling fan in the room in any case. The room was kept spotlessly clean by the staff & was comfortable. The breakfast was superb with more food than we could possible eat. The only issue that may cause a problem for some was that the path to the rooms consisted of gravel, bags couldn’t be easily rolled along & really needed to be carried, it would be better with a stone path so that bags could be pulled along, I suspect that as the staff were so helpful anyone who had real issues could have got the bags delivered to their room for them. For anyone staying on a Sunday, it would be advisable to book a restaurant as several in the town are not open & the better ones get booked up fast.

Leuke lodge voor 1 of 2 overnachtingen op doorreis

Leuke doorreis locatie. Swellendam is overzichtelijk en er is een soort van buitenlucht museum en enkele historische kerkjes en gebouwen. De lodge is prima. Aardige gastvrouw. Klein zwembad, helaas met te weinig stoelen voor alle gasten. Mooie tuin. Het ontbijt is werkelijk prima! Very fruit, diverse broodsoorten, yoghurt, confitures en ' English breakfast' naar keuze.
