"Simply put, Union Øye is the finest hotel myself and my fiancé have ever stayed at. The mountains, fjords, and broader landscape surrounding the hotel is singular in its majesty and beauty, and provides unequalled opportunities for exploration and adventure. For us, this included kayaking along Norangsfjorden and Hjørundfjorden, cold plunging in the fjord followed by a session in the glass-walled sauna on the dock overlooking the fjord, running / hiking in the mountains, and more. The hotel building was authentically historic and stunningly beautiful, with its historicity wonderfully captured in the decor, paintings and pictures, individually designed rooms, and the 10pm storytelling each night by a member of the staff telling the story of the hotel since its founding in 1891\. The food was exquisite and over the course of four days we truly looked forward to each meal. In the interim between meals, we would talk often about how good the last one was. Above all else, the staff are utterly exceptional. We have never experienced better. Each member of staff was unbelievably warm, kind, friendly and helpful. It truly felt like you were being welcomed as a guest into a family's home, rather than just a hotel. The level of effort each member of the staff put in to proactively making our stay as exceptional and as special an experience as possible was truly something to behold. It was a true joy to spend time arou them. We were engaged here and plan to come back many times."

"We specifically booked a room relying on Expedia pictures that the room is not to have a pitched roof, we paid more money for a non-pitched roof right on top of the bed. The accommodation hotel said he blocked Expedia from selling the room with the non-pitched roof picture. Who is lying here, we don’t know but we strongly feel we have been cheated here. The accommodation not only does not have elevator, the staircase is narrow and steep which made it difficult and kind of dangerous bringing luggage down the staircase. No desk, could not do any work. Expedia advertised breakfast “buffet”, what was available was just an extremely simple small packages in the refrigerator, another misrepresentation. We expect Expedia to provide at least a partial refund for not only misrepresentation but inconvenience caused. Not a good stay."

"The views from the hotel were spectacular. Pleasant staff. Parking is limited. When we got to the hotel in the afternoon we managed to find a spot but once we got back after dinner in town we had to park on the road. There was free tea and coffee in the lounge which was a lovely touch. We stayed one night wish we could’ve stayed longer. Highly recommended "

"The front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable. There was a small refrigerator. The bathroom and shower were totally tiled, which was nice. The shower had a curtain instead of the typical glass doors which we liked better. It was great that both breakfast and dinner were offered. Breakfast was good both days with good options and variety. Dinner one night was thin soup and bread which was not satisfying. The hotel was across the street from a grocery store which was nice."
