This lovely garden suite is minutes from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, 5-minutes to the Town of Sidney, a 10-minute drive to Victoria International Airport, and less than a half hour drive to the City of Victoria. Many Victoria-area attractions are within a short drive away including the popular Butchart Gardens. There are so many things to do and see, knowing that a very comfortable, spacious welcoming garden suite awaits you during your stay. Ample parking spaces are available. Six easy steps to enter the sunroom leading you to a well appointed kitchen which includes a coffee machine (drip and Keurig), air fryer, fridge, stove, juicer, spices, microwave, dishes, utensils, pots and pans, baking and roasting pans and more. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed. The second bedroom has two twin beds and a chaise lounge. The bathroom is equipped with all essential items, Including hair dryer, flat iron and hair spray. Enjoy a soak in the bathtub with Epsom salt. We have fast wi-fi in the suite. The living room has a new wood stove, comfortable seating, and a 58-inch smart TV with a great cable package (including Netflix, Prime, Crave, HBO and a good selection of sports channels). The dining table has seating for 6 comfortably, but can accommodate 8\. Enjoy a Sauna (infrared) after a day of touring. It has seating for 3. A walkway takes you to a gazebo in the garden for meditation, quiet reading, coffee and smoke breaks, away from the main suite. We are a pet friendly home and would expect that you clean up after your pup and not allow them on the furniture. Please leash your furry friend when leaving the unit. There are some great places to walk your dog, whether it is just around our neighborhood, or to the ocean at the government dock, or one of the trails or marinas in the area. Also fun for your pup is a popular off leash dog park (Cy Hampson Park) about a 10-minute drive away. Nearby hiking trails and a duck pond trail are a joy to walk. We are within a short walking distance of a few marinas, one of which has a great pub and a cafe/fine dining restaurant. The quaint seaside town of Sidney is just a 5 minute drive away. From there you can book whale watching tours, and kayak rentals. A Sidney Island Spit boat will take you to sandy beaches for your picnic lunch, purchased from one of the wonderful bakeries located here. The ocean pier walk about will take you to wonderful restaurants and Port Sidney to view boats and shopping! The summer months offer many activities from live concerts by the ocean to street markets. The Army and Navy Club has popular live band music every Friday night, a large dance floor, pool tables and darts. Open to all. Truly the best place for fun. Cycling is very popular here with a paved trail taking you from near FireThorn Manor to Sidney and beyond to experience island life. We are close to wineries, breweries, and even a gin distillery which are very popular. The owner is a Clinical Esthetician and Diabetic Foot Specialist with a studio inside the manor above the suite should you require treatments. If you require anything during your stay, we live upstairs and are a call or a text away. We put a lot of time and effort to make the garden suite inviting and comfortable for your stay and would appreciate any feedback or suggestions on what we could improve upon for your comfort. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. We found access to both the ferry terminal and the airport to be very convenient. Unfortunately, our stay was very brief which meant that we didn't have the opportunity to see or do things in the neighbourhood beyond enjoying a lovely visit with good friends in Sidney. ##### Garry K. We travelled to see the sights of Vancouver Island and spend time with family living in Sidney. This cozy spot is just outside of the hustle and bustle in the most beautiful picturesque location. Total serenity. A short walk up the road allows the most incredible views of the ocean and mountains. Wildlife right in your backyard. Hosts were super prompt and responding to any questions, the suite was perfect for 4 adults. Plenty of space, the most comfortable beds and everything you may need in a kitchen/laundry facility. We will without a doubt be back to FireThorn. The only thing to note is that there is no longer an outdoor hot tub, which was certainly not a deal breaker for us. We enjoyed many evenings out back in the gazebo. Absolutely wonderfully comfortable property! The owners met us upon arrival (Romi &Terri) and showed us around their spacious accommodations: a huge kitchen stocked with dishes, pots and pans, all the major spices, sugar and flour, even a juicer and air fryer, plus the use of an outdoor grill; a large dining table; a nice living area with a large TV; main bedroom with a king sized bed; smaller bedroom with twin beds; lovely bathroom; laundry facilities and even a sauna. The place felt like “home” for the few days we were there. The location is easy to find and close to Victoria, Butchart Gardens, and the ferry and within easy driving of all the sites around the lower part of the island. Try to visit some of the little bays and beaches nearby and take a walk around the neighborhood. There is even an outdoor gazebo to sit in for peace and quiet if you don’t want to wander. The sauna was a delightful bonus and the extra bedroom allowed our family member the flexibility to stay over while we hosted themRomi is a great Host along with her partner Terry, decorating the unit for us with a small Christmas tree, festive decorations and providing a bottle of bubbly for New Years Eve was a lively and unexpected touch. Our flight arrived a couple hours early and they kindly were able to accommodate an early check-in.Its handy to the ferries, the airport, walking paths, a lovely bakery/restaurant and a delightful pub, but the suite is so well equipped we cooked many family meals which was nice to be able to do.Sydney is 5 minutes away with grocery stores and all your needs.We definitely plan to return for another visit during a summertime. ##### Ron D.
