"The staff didn’t know how to look up my reservation. The guy behind the counter at 11pm had a bad attitude with me. Told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. This place has a lot of people living there on the property. When I arrived there was a drunk guy in room 108 yelling at a guy in room 107. "If you haven't stayed in a European-style budget hotel before, be aware. This is not a traditional large American-style hotel with lots of storage and furniture. The sink is in the bedroom. there is a small shelf and hanging clothes nook and the bed takes up literally the rest of the room. A small shower and the toilet are in a small area behind frosted glass. The bed is pretty comfortable and the hotel is fine. It tries too hard to be "hip" or whatever, but that's marginally pointless. Having all the controls to the room TV, thermostat, curtains, etc., all on an ipad is pretty nice. The area is outside the convention center/basketball arena part of downtown LA but is very walkable to bars and restaurants. There is also substantial transit in the area, both light rail and various buses. All in all, for the price, it is a place to stay if you aren't going to be in the hotel very much. Good for sleeping and that's about it."

"The hotel is one of my favorites, but I am glad it is getting a uplift. I had not used the pool before, but it was disappointing. Very misleading from pictures. It is very humid in the rooms, poor ventilation in the rooms. Wallpaper started to peel, and the paper in my storage box got crinkle due to the humidity in the room. I just hope there is no mold."
