"The Hidden Gem flat in Alfama was perfect for us. Small, but not cramped, bright and airy, and exceptionally clean. The bonus was a washing machine. It was walkable to most areas and surrounded by lovely restaurants and Fado clubs. We had a few communication glitches, but all was resolved by check-in time. I would definitely recommend the Hidden Gem in Alfama to family and friends."

"This property is NOT where it shows on the map, it is 10 minutes down the street and not in the village of Comporta. There is only one AC unit, and the bedrooms get very hot. The house was not clean upon arrival and the cleaning people were still there. The microwave didn't work either. I am still waiting for my refund. The management company is difficult to work with and communicate with. Cute pool though. "

"We booked the house primarily for two reasons: the outdoor area and the 6-room capacity for our large mixed-age group. Unfortunately, in summer, the house is a 5-bedroom, as one windowless bedroom is locked, and the 2 upstairs bedrooms get oppressively hot.The outdoor areas were great and the host tried to fix the many issues we had during our stay, but fundamentally, the house, beds, furniture, tableware and appliances are old and all areas are cluttered with some cupboards full of personal effects.We had several issues, including a repeatedly flooding toilet, mild electric shocks from the built-in fryer, a non-functioning washing machine (which was replaced), kitchen and bar fridges unable to stay cool, taps coming off, slow wifi with poor coverage, daily bird excrement due to nests in the eaves and unvacuumed bedframes with a suspected bed-bug skeleton.Given the issues we had and, more importantly, the lack of the advertised sixth bedroom, I requested a discount. In response, I received a very personal criticism that we broke items and spent too much time at the house rather than the beach, which resulted in increased electricity and pool chemical bills. Not what I expected given the friendly welcome we had and the 1000 per night price tag."

"Difficult to locate property for check in since porperty called Sea Sound Apartment and not Sesimbra Cliffs. Was only able to locate property after Expedia agent contacted owner and told us the property was located at Sesimbra Cliffs. Once we were able to get to property, person showed us all around and very friendly. Nice ocean and city view. Provided no cooking supplies, only a few spice bottles."
