"A wonderful hotel. Very premium and modern aesthetic. Hotel has minimal amenities like soap and hotel slippers and hair dryer only so you need to bring your own shampoo or toothbrush. Breakfast buffet is great. Will stay there again if we hit the area. Location is great , near the tourist boat tour. But there’s nothing much to do other than biking , and walking around a small riverside/nature area. The neighboring Lehde town is cute but super tiny. Can’t imagine being here more than 2 nights."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ressen?
The best area to stay in Ressen is in the vicinity of the Spreewald Therme, which offers a blend of relaxation and convenient access to the region's main attraction.

This area is located just outside the main village centre, providing a peaceful environment while still being easily accessible. The Spreewald Therme itself is a modern spa complex known for its thermal brine pools and various wellness treatments. Accommodation nearby often includes direct access or special packages for the Therme, making it ideal for those looking to unwind.

Couples will find this location particularly appealing for a relaxing getaway. You can spend your days enjoying the spa facilities, taking leisurely walks or bike rides along the nearby Spree River, and exploring the charming Spreewald landscape. Many hotels in this area offer comfortable rooms and excellent dining options, great for a romantic escape.

For travellers interested in exploring the unique Spreewald biosphere, staying near the Therme provides a good base. From here, you can easily arrange for traditional punt boat tours through the canals, which often depart from nearby Lübbenau or Burg (Spreewald), both a short drive away.
When is the best time to go to Ressen?
The best time to visit Ressen is during the late spring and summer months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is at its most pleasant.

During these months, the region experiences warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours, which are ideal for enjoying outdoor activities. Expect average daily temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C, superb for exploring the Spreewald biosphere reserve or taking a boat trip on the Spree River. This period also sees the region's flora in full bloom, offering beautiful scenery.

For travellers who enjoy water-based activities and outdoor adventures, July and August are particularly good. The lakes and rivers are warm enough for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Many local festivals and outdoor events also take place during these peak summer months, providing opportunities to experience local culture.

If you prefer slightly milder temperatures and fewer crowds, May, June, and September are excellent choices. The weather is still very agreeable for hiking and cycling, and you'll find the natural attractions just as beautiful without the peak season bustle.
