Un hôtel peu à notre goût pour une étape d'une nui
La première chose à dire concernant le Old Courthouse Inn est qu'il se trouve directement placé derrière une usine à papier. Si cela ne nous a pas gêné pour dormir, c'est vraiment dommage car l'usine cache la vue de la jolie baie de Powell River. Ensuite, c'est un hôtel dit "boutique", en hommage à la mère du propriétaire et aux années 50: c'est un amoncellement de meubles et d'objets pas particulièrement beaux mais qui ont en commun le fait d'être vieux. Il en résulte une odeur de poussière et de vieillerie, des dessus de lit et des coussins douteux, peu à notre goût. Et ce d'autant plus que c'est un hôtel parmi les plus chers, sinon le plus cher, de toute la ville.

I am not sure how to respond. I guess I will listen to the 99% of our guests who love what we have done and are doing with our beautiful inn. Sorry it wasn't to your tastes or standards. Maybe try The Ritz Carlton?

The place is interesting historical property furnished and decorated with antiques. The included breakfast in the restaurant was great. We suggest avoiding the breakfast that is offered on days when the restaurant is closed. We would stay at this property again.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Old Courthouse. It is a fun quirky place to stay in Powell River. Room was clean, check-in was efficient and fast. Good parking and easy access to the first floor from the parking lot. Would recommend and would stay again.

Owner checked us in and very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Loved the atmosphere in the room. Antique furniture so liked the ambience. Breakfast included a bonus. Would definitely stay again.

Self-serve breakfast area. Dishes not done from previous day, and short on supplies (juice container empty). Overall, a great location in Old Town and not the typical room or inn, with lots of antiques and historic flavour.

Unique hotel with a beautiful sunset from our room! Beautiful antique furnishings. Quaint vintage style with modern upgrades for convenience. Will definitely be back.

the owner is very hospitable, warm and welcoming. That was great. a few warnings - for a few dollars more I chose a room with a patio and discovered that the patio was only accessible through the lobby not the room and overlooked a huge factory. The booking included breakfast but the restaurant was closed and i was given snacks from the fridge in an extra room. Muffins were tasty, but it wasn't the full restaurant breakfast that had been implied. There was no reduction in cost for the simple breakfast snack.

Very nice place to stay, clean, friendly and not your typical hotel. It was recently renovated but hasnt lost any historical charm. The room was very nicely appointed and theres breakfast included everyday except mondays.

Always stay here when we come to town, it includes a great breakfast so definitely beats any of the motels in town. Plus it has a lot of character and history, all the rooms are unique.

Perfect location to experience the old townsite charm. We found the rooms to be perfectly appointed, everything is clean and the bed and sheets were incredibly comfortable. You feel transported back and experience the charm of this part of town. We also had a delicious breakfast that was included the next morning the staff food and atmosphere were wonderful.

Cozy Stay
Room was great and check-in was easy. Would recommend. The only concern was that it said breakfast was included, but we had to pay. Still it was a nice time and we enjoyed our stay.

Staff was super nice and welcoming and appreciative. The room was lovely and very comfortable, and very unique; the inn has so much character. The hotel cafe was under renovation while we stayed there, but they made sure that we had a table and made us breakfast. We would definitely love to go back once the reno is finished.

For starters the bed was soooo comfortable 😊 a very good night sleep. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed for renovations …..the room was to come with a full breakfast. We think that they should have advised us as that was part of our decision making. We didn’t have a way to reach the managers….we tried knocking on the door of their office but no answer. We were trying to get internet but maybe they don’t provide it. Over all we did ok but we’re very disappointed that the restaurant was closed

Quaint stay
Old historic hotel, so expect it to be quaint rather than modernized. The owner was helpful seeing us to our room and showing us how to use the TV remote. We were disappointed that the Cafe was closed for renovations - so we not able to get a hot cooked breakfast which was advertised to be included with our stay. We had a quiet, restful sleep in a comfortable king size bed in our spacious room. There was only a foam soap dispenser in the shower, so I had to drive to the main town to purchase shampoo and conditioner I was not able to finish drying my hair, since the dryer blew a fuse! The joys of old buildings! For a small 'Townsite', they had a great brewery and a couple of restaurant choices within walking distance, as well as an historic movie theater.

Gorgeous heritage property with semi-industrial view of now defunct mill. Lots of effort has gone into preserving the hotel’s charm. Friendly service - when we could find it. It’s the off-season, but a welcome binder with wifi, TV and ice instructions would have been appreciated. Loved the historic neighbourhood, craft brewery and beautiful 1928 movie theatre.

We really enjoyed the ambiance and cozy feel of the hotel and very much loved the convenience, included-in-price and (especially) any-time-till-closing a la carte breakfast. And the staff were super helpful and friendly. Exploring the historic neighbourhood on foot was also a total treat! We will be back!!

This is an old historic building in a very interesting part of Powell River and there is an interesting walk that you can do that takes you around all these old buildings! Building is very old so need to expect that everything isn’t as modern others but there is everything that you need including TV, WiFi, nice shower and lots of interesting photos and memorabilia to peruse! Breakfast included and it was very good! Also close to Highway 101 and access to Lund and some nice parks and hiking trails!
