We expected this and it was fine. The bathrooms were very nicely remodeled. Unfortunately, the mattress was really bad. We ended up putting both blankets they had in the closet under our bottom sheet to make it more comfy. Every hotel in uruguay seems to have this problem to varying degrees, but this was the worst one we encountered. The breakfast was simple, but nice. We enjoyed our stay, but with some basic new furniture and some touchups you could really step it up. There were pleasant walks nearby around the peninsula. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was comparable to other hotels we stayed in and offered everything we needed for a 'continental' style breakfast. Breakfast was available from 8 until 12 which was really valuable to us and other people involved in a yacht race as boats were coming in at various times. The pool was nice and the surrounding area was clean. The bed was a good size and comfortable with nice quality bedding. We booked a triple room as my husband was bringing off a lot of clothing/equipment from the yacht but if 3 people were staying in the room I think it would be a bit cramped. Tea and coffee were available at breakfast and in the afternoon in a communal area next to reception but it would have been really welcome to have had some facilities for making hot drinks in the room. The cleanliness in the room was good but the communal areas such as the stairwells often needed cleaning as there was mess on the carpets that should have been cleaned up. This was the case for the entire 9 days of my stay. The biggest issue was the lack of soundproofing between rooms. One evening there were 3 ladies who were very noisy in the room opposite and it sounded as it they were in my room. On another occasion I was kept awake by someone snoring in a room nearby. One night workmen were drilling and banging until 10 at night. I would stay again."
