"This hotel and its wonderful staff saved our honeymoon! Our original hotel lost our booking and gave us the smallest room with a communal bathroom instead of the en suite we paid for. We tried to tough it out but since we hadn’t brought shower shoes or toiletry baskets for a shared bathroom situation and wanted more privacy and comfort, we found a room at The Tire Station and went there to book it. The staff at the front desk/coffee bar were so welcoming and helpful that we immediately knew we made the right decision. Our room was spacious and clean with a huge window overlooking the street and nearby canal. Only issue was that there was a bit of mold in the shower, but everything else seemed clean and new. It is a quick walk to Surinameplein tram station, Vondelpark, and Cafe Schinkelhaven. They have a half price coffee hour from 8 to 9 AM and a free glass of wine for guests from 5 to 6 PM. We had the breakfast one day and it was delicious! Eggs, granola, yogurt, cheese, bread, pastries, and lots of vegan options as well. Again, the staff was amazing and friendly and we would love to go back someday—maybe for our anniversary! Thank you! "

"checked out within 10 minutes of arrival because this property is a health and safety hazard. The room was covered in significant mould (walls and windows), and the flooring was filthy and untidy. The stairs are dangerously steep and lack basic safety features, making them a serious risk. To make matters worse, the bathroom door was broken and would not close, and there were no blinds or curtains on the windows, leaving zero privacy from the street. I did not use any facilities and left immediately. Avoid this place if you value your health and safety."

"The rooms in this hotel are fine, if a bit cramped for 2 people. The staff are helpful. The buffet breakfast is excellent. HOWEVER, here is an important tip: Do NOT eat in the hotel restaurant. The menu is very limited, and some of the items are very odd, including a cauliflower dish which was barely edible. And the lemon tart was not properly cooked. The chef lacks basic skills. So, avoid the restaurant."

"Hotel was clean on outside and inside. Rooms were nice and clean. We had adjoining rooms with connecting door. One room had 2 twin beds pushed together but separate covers, which would have been better as a couple if there was 1 cover. The 2nd room was a queen or king size bed and both were clean with a desk area and chair. The bathroom was clean and had a hair dryer. If you are from USA, bring wash clothes, they do not supply those but they do offer several other items such as toothbrush/paste, sewing kit, shave cream and maybe a few other things in case you forgot something. There is not an ice machine or bucket but there is a coffee machine/ kurig, also no refrigerator to keep drinks cool. Thankfully there is a small grocery store connected to the hotel building.(Best prices on wooden tulip bouquets). Staff was super friendly, and for each day you decline house keeping, they provide you with a voucher for 2 drinks at the bar. House keeping is not available at night but the staff ensures you have what you need/want. Breakfast is ok for free, I'm really picky so I didn't eat my I but the other 3 in my party sits. There were eggs, yogurt, deli sliced meats, toast, cream cheese jelly, rolls, fruit, (I may be forgetting some food items) and drinks. I suggest bringing a water bottle to refill as they have water jug at the bar which is free or the morning breakfast staff will fill it with water for you. Very close to transportation which is a big win."

"Nice hotel in a quiet area, although there isn’t much to do nearby. 5 minute walk to a tram stop so it’s easy to get to the center! Always came back to fresh towels and toiletries. Only complaint would be the traffic noise from the highway!"

"The location of the hotel was good. Breakfast was great. Hotel staff was above average. The room itself is not made for more than two people. That is where the hotel fell short. Just plan on tow rooms if you have more than two guest. We thought we were to get a pullout sofa but they just crammed a rollaway next to the bed."
