The Original Marshmellow! Spacious Ocracoke beach house in the quiet Jackson Dunes neighborhood. Marsh views, large front deck, and two screened porches. House was one of the most popular rentals for over 25 years, now owner-occupied and selectively rented through VRBO only. Reverse floor plan with large open space on the top floor. Stainless kitchen appliances, gas stove, and the best stocked kitchen you'll find. 65" TV in living room, with smart TVs in all bedrooms as well. Starlink satellite internet for fast, problem-free downloads, streaming, and browsing. Owner converted one bedroom into a well-equipped home gym, featuring plenty of weights, bands, bars, bells, and benches. House also features a 4-person golf cart, provided sheets and towels, Webber grill, Hatteras hammock, outdoor shower, bicycles, helmets, and spacious flat backyard. New driveway, walk-in shower, porch screens. Fish cleaning bench, rods, coolers, and chairs for your beach trips. Property is being conservatively and selectively rented for six people max, no smoking. Three day minimum. Keypad combination provided upon reservation. Thanks!

Pleasant stay for wedding
This property was great! It was a great location for us and was very clean upon arrival. Nicely equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen as well as sheets and towels. The use of the golf cart was awesome!! Communication with the boat was easy and he responded quickly. The information book provided by the host was also helpful. Great place that we would definitely rent again!

A true gem plus all the bells and whistles!
Our group enjoyed a 3 day getaway at the Marshmellow and it was absolutely perfect! The entire experience from start to finish was all we wanted and more! Derek’s communication was top notch and the amenities of the property were spot on! The golf cart was the icing! We will be back!

Everything about this property exceeded our expectations! The bikes, the golf cart, air compressor for filling tires back up after beach, extra toiletries, fully stocked kitchen, all the outdoor spaces to sit, relax, eat, read, sleep…. This place felt like home from day 1. And the host, Derek! He was super responsive and available for everything we needed. Was met by his girlfriend, Virginia with a super warm welcome when we checked in, also! Plenty of space for our family of four to not feel right on top of each other. The neighborhood is perfect to feel comfortable letting kids roam a little. Already booked for next summer! Thank you Derek!

Everything!
Super clean. Great place to kick back in the evenings on the screened in porch. Birds chirping are the only noise pollution! The golf cart was a bonus for getting around easily. Derek was helpful with everything!

We loved the location of the property. It is in a very quiet area on the island and Derek has thought of everything one could possibly need. We felt like the house was bigger than it appeared in the listing. Having the golf cart at the house was huge and saved us a few hundred dollars by not having to rent one. Derek was great to work with. My truck had to get towed off the island but he sent someone to the house to try to assist to fix the problem. We’ve really couldn’t have asked for a better host or house.

we had four people and some puppies. the home was absolutely as listed or better. Derek has all the kitchen equipment and gadgets you could need and the only minor issue we had was remedied in a couple of hours and was probably on our party to begin with. great neighborhood, great location, awesome place!!

Carefree Island Vacationing
Derek provided us with the perfect setting for an incredible girl’s getaway! Marshmellow had everything we needed and more. The fully stocked kitchen was incredible (the coffee set-up alone was swoon worthy). We spent every available moment on the many outdoor porches - drinking coffee in the morning and star gazing, watching thunderstorm over the ocean, playing cards, listening to music, having cocktails all night long….. While the sun was up, we used the provided bicycles to ride to the beach, drove the golf cart for dining at the many spectacular Ocracoke restaurants, went kayaking around the island, and took an incredible yoga class with Virginia at Ocracoke Island Yoga. (**** The golf cart was an awesome bonus to this rental!!!***) Derek was the best host, so easy to contact and quick to respond to all of our questions. All in all, this was a fantastic R&R vacation and we feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful spot for our trip!

Enjoyed Long Weekend on Ocracoke
This is a great house. It fit our needs perfectly. We did not have our dog with us this trip, but would be a great house for a dog. I loved the natural light throughout the upper floor and all the decks and the nice screened porch. The neighborhood was quiet. The kitchen is updated. Plenty of room to relax. Very nice to have access to a golf cart. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Ocracoke. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
