If I would create a cozy cabin, this would be it. I travel with my own twinkle lights to create the right soothing ambiance, but I didn’t need them here. Quiet, sparking clean, and efficient use of kitchen space. It also boasted the best water pressure of all the places we stayed in our 18 day trip.I met Raven’s staff (mom and maintenance man) upon departure and they sing her praises. This speaks volumes. The house is new, well-furnished, amply-supplied and just right for Alaska. The owners communicated with us before, during and after our stay and there were no issues or concerns. Everything was perfect. We enjoyed the view from every window - we didn’t have time or weather to enjoy the decks, but they are very nice. I took a long walk one evening along the country roads in the area and watched for moose, but missed them, apparently.... From room 205, starting from the very first night, I could hear the noise from the plumbing… On top of that, when I asked about the airport shuttle schedule, the answers I received were completely off-topic. The staff member who checked me in seemed totally clueless. In the end, I didn’t even stay for the last night I had paid for. The Wedgewood Resort in Fairbanks is a much better option, even if it’s not as close to downtown. The small downtown area itself is charming, with several international restaurants to choose from."
