The stunning Villa Elaida boasts a wonderful position with grand views of the countryside, close to the sandy beach and small town Panormo (5min driving), classified as one of the most beautiful seaside locations in Rethymno and with many delightful villages to discover nearby. The Villa can accommodate up to 26 guests and is located within 200 metres from the centre of Perama town, where you will find big super markets, pharmacies, banks, taverns and all essentials for your daily needs! Exterior The property enjoys a superb location with wonderful views of the countryside. There are 2000 sq. m. of grounds. There are three terraces, a covered one off the living area with views of the pool area, ideal for outdoor meals, a second off the kitchen overlooking the orchards and a third on the other side of the kitchen in a garden shaded by trees. Within one hectare of land, the property has a spacious well-established garden with lawns and planted with olive trees. There is a beautiful, large, private pool (10X5 meters and 1,40 m deep), also featuring a children’s pool of 10 m2 and 0,60 m deep, as well as a non heated spa whirlpool. There are a lot of sun beds around the swimming pool where you can enjoy your sunbathing or sit by the pool late at the afternoon and relax while feeling the refreshing summer breeze on you. You can also find among the trees next to the pool area a children’s playground, a basketball and volleyball court, a ping pong table and a pool table while enjoying the beautiful views across the countryside. Interior The interior has been beautifully decorated and furnished with much attention to detail in a contemporary style well suited to its provincial setting. The rooms in the main house are distributed over two floors. Ground Floor When entering the house there is a large living room where you can enjoy some moments of relaxation while watching TV. There is also a dining area where you can enjoy your meal with your family and a fully equipped modern kitchen, as well as a family bathroom. Furthermore, there are three spacious bedrooms in the ground floor, each one covering 25 m2 and featuring its own ensuite bathroom and having a single sofa bed. Additionally, guests can access one more bedroom on the ground floor, which has its own private access and direct access to the garden, also equipped with its own en suite bathroom. Location Overview. Also Panormo, is a friendly sea side village, 10 minutes away by car and well known for its sandy beaches. The two main beaches are Limanaki and Limni. Both of them are sandy with clear blue water and ideal for kids, as they are shallow and well protected from winds. The beaches are organised and equipped with sun beds & umbrellas. Water sports are also available. The harbour beach in front of the village is the port of the area, where the boats tie up, this beach is unorganised. The village has all the facilities and amenities one would need : well-stocked mini-markets, post office, pharmacy, a doctor’s office, a butcher's shop, bakery (hot, fresh bread every morning from 9 am), various gift shops and traditional seaside shops at very reasonable prices. Had all we could need for a family stay with an infant. Managers were prompt to respond to questions and requests and owner very accommodating. Especially grateful for support when Dad became ill. There is just a couple of tiny signs of wear and tear on the building but no issues affecting our stay which was very comfortable and enjoyable. There is though a supermarket, bakeries and a great grill restaurant within walking distance. One other observation is that the pool surface is in places quite rough and therefore we had a couple of cuts amongst the group when playing water games etc but overall the whole group of 16 had a wonderful holiday at Villa Elaida. We had a wonderful time and the Villa is beautifully renovated with plenty of room and activities for all ages to enjoy themselves. WE specifically liked the outdoor area with the big pool and a lot of room to cook and eat family dinner. We also tried the pizza oven which was a huge success. Overall this is an exceptional villa which is very well equipped with lot of space and room for everybody. Thank you so much for a lovely week and we will defiantly return someday. ##### Agnes Á. The villa is huge with each room a really good size. There were 24 of us in the villa and we were never on top of each other! All the play bits for the kids were great and the pool area was totally amazing. The host was absolutely amazing too as was George the cab man arranging every cab or one night a coach to get us to and from the villa for all 24 of us! One great bonus was having loads of take away information ranging from breakfast, cocktails, snacks and dinner with all paying cash on arrival. This was a bit of a life saver as it is a bit out the way of any good local taverns and the walk from the supermarket is tough as it is up hill all the way. We did find one super market that also delivered too. The area is not great and a little run down but this did not affect our holiday at all as the villa was totally luxury! One thing I would recommend is heading to Bali beach. The beach was gorgeous and the water sports were reasonably priced and so much fun. We also ate here on the last night and wished we found it earlier as it had a range of tavernas and the setting is second to none. It is only 15/20 mins from the villa but is worth the drive! The local town panormos is tiny and didnt really cater for big groups so you would need to book in advanced if you went here .Rethymno was about 25 mins away. This was so so so busy! Adonis and his brother couldn’t do enough to help and the Villa itself is lovely, really well furnished and immaculate. It had everything you could want, the pool and outside areas well kept. The boat trip and chef recommended by Valia were the highlights. All I would say is you probably need a car, the bakery and icecream shop are well worth a visit in the village which is down a hill and it’s a hike coming back. ##### mark s. We were two families, total of 16 adults, staying for 7 nights, and we had the best time. The villa had everything we needed, was beautiful inside and out, the beds were comfortable, and we had so many fun activities to do. The property manager was accessible for any questions we had. We loved the property it met all our needs and the property manager was great A large group involving three families and the grown up family. The property had everything. The cleaners were very helpful even with limited English, they accidentally took some pyjamas with the bedding, but returned them promptly (and laundered). The villa was amazing, very modern and spacious and spotlessly clean. There was a lovely welcome basket on our arrival and a warm greeting from the owners. We spent most of the day around the pool and using the many leisure facilities available. The loveliest villa we have ever stayed in and everyone enjoyed a fabulous holiday. ##### Moira B. The villa was perfect! Spacious, clean, amazing facilities for all ages and a beautiful pool. I cannot recommend this villa more highly and the hosts were great to... very helpful and kind. Pool area is really nice and we used the basketball/volleyball court a lot. The hosts were really responsive and super helpful and helped out with arranging transports and other things. We received a warm welcome and helpful tour of the villa which was cleaned to a very high standard and well kept. The space was amazing with plenty of shaded areas to relax in. The town was walking distance and we enjoyed local meats and fish every evening. The contact for the villa was easily contactable and quickly responsive when we had queries. We were a lot of people of all ages, which is why Villa Elaida was a really good choice - space for everyone, swimming pool for kids and adults, playgrounds for children and adults as well. Good large rooms with all facilities. The only thing I can mention, as we were a family of 22 members, is that the kitchen could include two dishwashers instead of one - just a note. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and couldn’t have asked for more! All requests answered in good time and were very kind. The Villa is in a secluded location, however the taxi company recommended by the owners was amazing and a great help throughout our holiday. My only advice would be that the pool table needs replacing as it’s not in great condition, however this was a great addition to the Villa and did not effect us at all. With four bedrooms upstairs and four downstairs we were able to accommodate the young children in our group downstairs which from a safety point of view was great. The villa has recently been refurbished which is good but some of the workmanship leaves a little bit to be desired. Walking distance to supermarkets and shops but very steep hill on the return journey. No beach or nightlife close by (if that’s what you want) so it’s taxis or rent a large minibus. The taxi company we used (part of the same family I think) were very good and ran us around everywhere. The hosts were very welcoming and more than happy to help. ##### Jeffery P. May 26, 2016 #### Lovely Villa Dafnos - a comfortable stay in the beautiful Cretian countryside A large property in a lovely spot close to the small town of Perama. Panormos is the closest sea side town with a number of pleasant restaurants and bars. The house was comfortable with a communal kitchen and lounge area with a dining area on the terrace. Some of the bedrooms were suites with bedroom, shower room and kitchenettte /lounge area. Some of the guests found the beds a little on the hard side but I found mine perfectly comfortable. One or two niggles such as no pool side shower even though advertised, no bicycles or boat (advertised) even though the villa is a little away from the sea. The pool was clean and safe. With large groups of people staying it would help if there was a larger kettle in the kitchen and a tea pot would have been useful to us tea drinkers. The kitchen was well equipped but all the saucepans tended to be large. A number of smaller pans would be a useful addition. A handbook of information would also be a useful addition. It could cover items such as wi fi codes and passwords, how to switch on boiler when there is no hot water, how to operate the tv and when the cleaners were coming in to change the bedding and towels.It could also include a section on places of interest to visit whether they be of historical significance or of s more sporting nature etc There also could be a section for guests own comments on places they had visited on the island, including restaurants, water parks etc. Our group had a wonderful time at Villa Dafnos and greatly enjoyed their stay.
