"Great location. Paid parking is close. Most of the old building looks refreshed, but some hall carpeting looks tattered. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious. Breakfast buffet was hearty, but the coffee offered was so bad we bought instant in town and made our own at breakfast. Staff are very nice. There is a bar on-site, but we didn't use it."

"We are regulars at this tourist hotel which tends to specialise in bus tours for foreign visitors and older travellers. We use it as a base to visit the Highlands north of Inverness and when we had our dog it was great as it is definitely dog friendly. In general the hotel is a little tired but the bus tourists certainly keep the numbers up. There is a very good Chinese restaurant and a pizza restaurant within walking distance if you want to eat out as the bus tours tend to fill the hotel restaurant. The staff are very helpful and there is often musical entertainment in the evening."

"A lovely hotel in a perfect setting by the river. My only quibble is that one morning at breakfast two staff members had a disparaging conversation about a colleague within earshot of guests. Bar prices were a bit on the high side but other than that The Palace was terrific."
