Santa's Shack Upstairs - Near Pictured Rocks

  • Pictured Rocks Family Rentals welcomes you to Santa's Shack Upstairs! One of 3 units available at this location. The Upstairs includes 2 bedrooms and1 bath with 2 queen beds and a full/twin bunk bed. Great location just off of M-28 behind the White Pine Lodge and less than 5 miles from Munising. It's close to Pictured Rocks, ORV trails, many waterfalls and lighthouses. The casino is within walking distance, as well as Foggy's Steakhouse. If there's a large group, combine with our other 2 units on the same site, and it could sleep up to 18 people and have 3 bathrooms!

    The space

    This is a second floor apartment and all recently remodeled with the feeling of up north including pine trim and log beds. Home has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The building also has an on demand water heater so you'll never run out of hot water, even if you take the last shower :) While the home is conveniently located right off of M28, unfortunately there is not much for a view or privacy when hanging outside as the apartments all have the view of the back of the White Pine Lodge and the gas station. There is a fire pit to share with the other apartments if you would like to be outside, and you also have your own private gas grill and patio set on the deck. There is room in the shared driveways for parking trucks and trailers and you are only a couple blocks from the Christmas trailhead.

    Other things to note:

    *There are other rental units on-site

    *The outdoor amenities are shared between all units (hot tub, fire pit, parking area, etc)

    *Quiet time is 10 pm to 8 am

    *There are three 24 hr audio/video surveillance recording cameras facing all exterior entry doors that are motion activated

    *No unauthorized guests (people not included on reservation) allowed without preapproval from host

    *No animals allowed

    *Signed rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations.
    *Primary guest will need to send a picture of government issued ID and list names and ages of all other guests in their group.

Wonderful Spot

We loved the location of this property and it had plenty of space for my group of friends. Easy to enjoy Pictured Rocks and Marquette from here. Highly recommend!

Amazing

Clean, roomy and had everything you could need. Even a/c for those hot days. Host was informative and responsive which made checking in hassle free. With 2 adults and 5 kids ages 9-16 we did not feel cramped at all. I would give higher than a 5 star if I could. We will definitely be booking this place again next time we come up.

Cozy place close to Pictured Rocks National Shoreline

Very clean and comfortable. The owner was accommodating. Great amenities with a hot tub, porch and grill. Easy use of the laundry room. Only a few miles from Pictured Rocks, very convenient. Would recommend & stay there again. The only draw back was it is practically in the backyard of a motel & the casino parking lot, not as secluded as the pictures suggest online. Still a very nice stay!

Comfortable and cozy

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Santa’s Shack. The apartment was very cozy and comfortable for the four of us. We give it an A+ for cleanliness and closeness to the attractions we wanted to see. We would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in the Munising area.

Not numerous kitchen utensils, numerous bath towels, gas grill has with a full tank of propane. Overall, well thought out place and owner seems very considerate. Check out the nearby gas station for the friendly clerks and good ice cream. The only negative: The exterior Christmas lights made our bedroom too bright for sleep. Great place!

Santa's Shack is a clean delight!

Even though Santa's Shack's back deck view is the gas station and casino, that is ALSO A HUGE PLUS, because it was so easy to find! This gem is clean, updated and worry-free! Danielle has pretty much everything needed for great stay! The deck is a nice outdoor space for those staying upstairs. Comfortable living room seating and plenty of towels and cozy blankets. Would definitely recommend it and stay again! Kayaking is so close and well worth it to come and do again!

I booked this unit via Orbiz. In the confirmation letter it said "This property requires an initial deposit which will be charged to your credit card. The remaining balance will be collected by the property during your stay". However on the check in day when I was driving to there, I had a call from property manager told me I cannot get door open unless I paid the second part. She said sent me an email several hours ago. I was lucky managed to paid the second part when drove in an area still had cell signal. My concern is that what she said that I had to pay the second part before I could check in is different than what in Orbitz's confirmation letter. I am fine to paid full before I can open the door but could the manager contact me the day before the travel? On the check in day people may busy with packing, driving and the road may not covered with cell signal.
