A comfortable eco holiday cottage on the Cragend farmstead.
A comfortable eco holiday cottage on the Cragend farmstead. Don't be put off by 'eco' or the mention of a non-mains source of water as it is filtered and drinkable. The heating and hot water is provided by a wood burner with radiators upstairs. Lighting and stoking the burner is easy and a satisfying process. There is a plentiful supply of logs. The hosts Shaun and Lou were very welcoming, keen to show us the interesting farm and explain its history. It was originally part of the Cragside Estate so has some of Lord Armstrong's innovations. Great position to visit many interesting places and some fantastic beaches relatively near. All together a comfortable, interesting and enjoyable week. Would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
