We learnt that the resort has been recently taken over by another owner. With did not have an unpleasant stay but I cannot accept fees that sum up to the cost of an extra night."

"La struttura e' molto carina anche se necessiterebbe di un rinnovo dei locali comunque le stanze sono pulite. Ogni camera ha un piccolo patio al coperto con un tavolo e 4 sedie. It started with the front staff requiring higher extra fees than what was stated in the ad, blaming Hotels.com for having wrong information. My family then had to wait outside the reception for 45 minutes - no, they were not even allowed in to our room nor to use the pool - while I had to drive to an ATM to get cash to pay the fees. Who said customer experience is important?...

"È stato tutto ottimo tranne il fatto che la tassa di soggiorno non è stata quella che doveva essere. Ci hanno detto che il sito non ha aggiornato il tariffario. Nel complesso appartamento pulito mi aspettavo anche gli asciugamani ma non c’erano (quindi portateveli). E nell’appartamento c’è solo una portafinestra quindi di notte bisogna stare per forza con il clima acceso perché non c’è aria."

"The staff at the Palazzo were over the top. This Palace is so beautiful and very clean. I would definitely stay here again. The reception staff Alonso, Matteo, Virgile, Isabella, Virgilio were very kind and helpful. They suggested places to visit things to do in the area and booked dinner reservations. The Restaurants that they suggested were excellent and all within walking distance. The Place suggested a spa. We had a couples massage with Claudia and Enza. This is one of the best massages we have ever experienced. Thank you Ladies. Claudia and Enza are very professional and kind. The Spa is amazing. We also met the owners of the Palace and had a very nice conversation. It was a pleasure to meet them. A shout out for Alfonso which is a very special person. Grand Hotel di Lecce

" This is not a Grand hotel in the sense of the Danieli or Excelsior, however, that is probably because they choose not to have a restaurant, even though they put out a sumptuous breakfast and have a commercial kitchen and plenty of staff. Our room had filthy old green carpeting, but we noticed in the long hallway that some rooms have modern wood flooring, which is much more sanitary I don't know why we weren't given the upgrade since we are hotel gold members. The only other issue was the parking which we tried to reserve well in advance, but was unavailable, which was disappointing since we have a brand new Mercedes-Benz . The staff was very pleasant and the bathroom was spacious and had the best shower of our trip. Overall, it was good value for the money and it's probably one of the better hotels in Lecce."
