The best time to visit Mohe depends on whether you're chasing the winter wonderland experience or the midnight sun, but generally, the winter months from December to February or the summer solstice period are most popular. For those dreaming of a true winter escape, December to February offers the most spectacular snowy landscapes and the highest chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Temperatures can be extremely cold, often dropping well below freezing, but this is when Mohe transforms into a magical ice kingdom. You'll find activities like ice sculpting, dog sledging, and skiing readily available. If you're keen to experience the unique phenomenon of the midnight sun, then late June, specifically around the summer solstice, is the ideal time. While not a full midnight sun like in the Arctic, Mohe experiences exceptionally long daylight hours, with the sun barely dipping below the horizon. The weather during this period is much milder and pleasant, making it suitable for exploring the surrounding forests and rivers.
