Location is good. There was pet hair and pet odour on the sofa which we cleaned. The pillow protectors and pillows were stained and not very comfortable. Spa was good. Television was very small and not all channels could be received due to its age. An extra towel rail in the bathroom would have been handy given extra towels used for the spa and for swimming nearby. Rose Cottage would be better suited for a 1-2 night stay as opposed to the 6 nights we spent. For a longer stay perhaps one of the other cottages would be better suited. We stayed in the Water room for the past two nights. For the amount of money we paid i was disgusted. The room is tiny, no where to put belongings except on a filthy stone floor which claimed to be heated but was not. The bed was not Queen as advertised but a very uncomfortable double for my 6'2 husband. The rooms were covered in cobwebs and dust. Furnishings old, worn & dusty. The bathroom fan is thick with dust making the rooms smell like burning dust. We washed spa before we used it, flushing out jets but were still stting among clumps of slimy matter. Bath towels are cheap and well worn. Long life milk was 3 months past use by. I spent 2nd day feeling very unwell. Utensils, frypan etc had seen better days. Everything old and worn Apart from a waterfall outside the room is actually decorated in a very tacky egyptian theme. Not sure who gave this place a 5 star rating but its way off the mark. Do yourself a favour and give this place a miss. We stayed in the Rose cottage. Its disappointing that the cottage is now run down and still commanding a high price per night to stay.The rose cottage is run down and requires some love and care put back into the property. The cottage is set out nicely but requires attention to maintenance and updating. You can get nicer accommodation and surroundings for the same price at Daylesford, Yarra Valley or the Dandenongs.
