« The lady at the desk was excellent in handling so many people at once, very skilled, mannerly, customer focused and quality-driven. The outside of the motel looked very nice yet the inside was shabby, run-down, worn, furniture in room was terribly stained. At $170 in WV, 30 miles from nearest “city” the price was absurd for the expense. Poor value. »

« The Paddler's Retreat is REALLY out of the way. We enjoyed our stay however, people need to understand that all services are limited. Due to Covid there is only a very limited breakfast, mostly cold. If you want tea, you will need to use the microwave. The range is not available. Furthermore, the options are more limited for dinner. There is only a gas station / limited eatery that stop serving at 6:30pm. The little town, Confluence is about 5 miles away.
