Staff was very responsive via text. Room was clean with nice modern touches, a utility sink, microwave and mini fridge. Pet friendly and accommodating. Room was quiet with doors and windows closed. Lots of road noise if window or patio are open. Great views of the sunset and across the street from Iron Ore Trail.

I loved looking over Lake Superior. The lake is gorgeous. Sitting outside on my balcony was so nice and romantic. Marquette is literally GODS COUNTRY!!! Great staff they accommodated us with know issues..Definitely coming back.

We enjoyed the Birchy. The view was great. It was close to many great hike in the Marquette area.

The website for booking this property is misleading. When booking, our room said it had a patio or a balcony and when we arrived it it had neither. Luckily, there was a room available that did.Otherwise, we would have stayed somewhere else and demanded a refund

The concept of this property is unique, easy access, minimal frills, decent price, however execution of this concept was very lacking in this case. We arrived to the property and were able to access the room without any staff interaction, but that is were the convenience ended. The property is pet friendly, the walls are very thin and we had several dogs that were barking significantly. The property is right off the main highway, and without any sound proofing this meant we heard significant traffic all night. The property claims to be smoke free, but the patrons who wanted to smoke did so where ever they wanted to, this is the start of the problem with not having staff available. When we settled down into our room we discovered that there was no remote to the tv, when we reached out to the number provided it took over an hour for a response and we were told there was nothing they could do about it that night (due to no staff on site I assume). We were only staying one night, so this meant that we were not able to even watch tv before bed. They were eventually (about 3 hours in) able to get the dogs to stop barking, our neighbors continued to be loud and smoke throughout the night, the laundry/ice facility was not well kept and we decided we did not feel comfortable using those amenities. Overall for $200 a night this was not the bargain we were hoping for, we would not stay again.

The room was very nice, a modern Scandinavian style. The view was very nice of Lake Superior. The king size bed was very good quality. The location is very convenient, only a couple miles to center Marquette with good restaurants and shopping. Hwy 41 by the motel is quite loud during the day. Birchy thoughtfully had a sound machine in the room to drown out the road when sleeping. In the morning rush turning left toward town can be tricky. The bath room tub had no grab bars, a bit dangerous for us older folks. We had a bad experience trying to get the TV to work. A half dozen calls to maintenance only partially solved the issue with battery changes and reprogramming a new remote. While the room was newly renovated, the air conditioner was quite old and had a mind of its own. It would change its temperature setting during the night, waking me up too hot.

Our room had a nice balcony but no chairs on balcony or in the room. Could not get comfortable on the room, did not like bed, but no other place to sit. Outside lots of picnic tables but very poor condition. Nicely redecorated rooms.

Very clean & modern. Pool, bikes & cornhole all at n/c. No employees at the property. A code to open the door is sent to you a few days ahead of your stay. Worked great. No issues. Several miles south of town on the highway and bike path. Not as noisy as we thought it would be because the walls are well insulated. Great beds.

Customer service was fantastic! We requested a later checkout time because we were in town for a marathon and we were uncertain when we would finish. They responded immediately and accommodated our request. They had a no contact check in and check out and they communicated all the information to make that smooth experience.

The property was cute, cozy clean and exceeded my expectations in every way. The location is also great. I could see Lake superior right out my back window. I would definitely stay here again anytime I’m passing through the area or even for a small vacation. I will say that the Wi-Fi is not great, but I don’t think that anybody Goes to the UP for the Wi-Fi anyway.
