« Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. »

« The house is a really good size, we were impressed with the cleanliness.As someone has already complained about the down stairs tv...it as yet not been fixed. « A good place to have as a base to explore the area. Comfortable especially the double bed, and had everything you may need. It's not luxurious but very practical, good for the dog as long as they can get upstairs.The only down side is the proximity to the road although that was only busy at peak times. « The cottage is ideally located and the off street parking is a bonus. The property is well laid out and spacious with everything you could need for a relaxing break. We would not hesitate to return. Only a couple of suggestions to make the stay even better. There was a faint smell of drains in the bathroom which built up if the door was closed. The wooden frame round the bed had corners which could catch your legs when walking round it due to the close proximity of the wardrobe. More room...

"Bel hôtel idéalement situé, à côté de stade St James Park de l'équipe de football, 5min à peine du quartier chinois et autres restaurants en plus de celui de l'hôtel. Petit déjeuner complet, régulièrement réapprovisionné. Niveau sonore, tout dépend du côté donnant la chambre. Côté rue cela reste assez bruyant en fonction de l'animation surtout en soir de match. De l'autre côté, résidence universitaire et zone piétonne donc bien plus calme. Pas de parking sur place. Personnel très accueillant et disponible."

"While this hotel is a little dated, it still has charm and some wonderfully warm and welcoming personnel. The quality and range of ingredients in the breakfast could be improved (especially the coffee) but the view in the breakfast room makes up for that. "
