Joli petit hôtel retiré du monde
Au bout de la presqu’île de Snæfellnes juste avant d’entrer dans le parc national. Le restaurant est excellent et les chambres sont confortable avec une magnifique vue sur l’océan.

Chambre triple dans annexe derriere hotel avec vue sur le parking pour 32o euros. Frigo servant de table de nuit pour le 3eme lit. Pas de place au bar pour la vue sur la mer contrairement aux autres fosshotel. Receptionniste francais pas tres sympa. Celui du lendemain a compense! Tres Bon petit dejeuner et salle de resto avec tres belle vue ce qu on aurait aime pour la chambre

Hotel tres bien situé et moderne. Chambre confortable (sauf douche) Malheuresement tentative de nouvelle facturation du petit déjeuner lors du çheck in alors qu'il était inclus dans la réservation! Petit déjeuner moyen et non regarni (plateaux vides) Coupure d'eau sous la douche et absence totale de pression ! Problème connu et non traité. Ce n'est pas à la hauteur des prestations des autres hôtels Fosshotel.

Les travaux de rénovation sont finis et le résultat est juste top ! Les chambres sont cosy, douillettes, d'une belle taille avec une vue superbe. Et le copieux petit dej vous permettra de tenir jusqu'au soir. Pour couronner le Tout, le sentier de rando permettant de rejoindre Arnastapi se situe juste quelques mètres plus bas

Dommage car c'est la chambre d'hôtel qui nous a coûté le plus cher! Mais déception sur toute la ligne, chambre très petite, salle de bains exigue et restaurant de l'hôtel : à déconseiller ! On attendait autre chose d'un Fosshôtel, surtout que la situation est unique !

Beau bâtiment facile d'accès, dans le hameau d'Hellnar. Le site d'Expedia nous informait d'une arrivée possible à compter de 14h00, en fait l'accès aux chambres n'est possible qu'après 16h00. Nous avons pu avancer un peu cet horaire, et en attendant la réceptionniste nous a aimablement proposé des activités possibles dans les environs. Accueil sincèrement très souriant. Chambres moyennement spacieuses pour le prix. Salle de bains avec douche à l'italienne, lavabo minuscule et éclairage insuffisant (1 seule ampoule à économie d'énergie). Les portes en bois gondolées ferment mal. Bonne literie. Isolation phonique mauvaise, bruits des voisins, du couloir et même des chaises tirées dans la salle à manger. TV écran plat 24 chaines internationales dont TV5 monde. Wifi inclus qui fonctionne bien. Petit déjeuner buffet très complet et varié : plats chauds (haricots blancs sauce tomate, oeufs brouillés, bacon), céréales, yaourts, jus, boissons chaudes... pris dans la salle de restaurant avec vue mer. L'établissement est correct, mais les prix pratiqués bien au delà des prestations offertes.

There are no places to dine in the area other than the hotel. They are quite pushy to get you to eat dinner and breakfast there. There are no facilities to prepare your own food which is quite frustrating and shocking because everywhere else we’ve stayed has options. They have signs in the room telling you to not cook or else you’ll be fined. For the price you pay they really need to accommodate all kinds of travellers. You’re not going to be able to stop people from preparing their own food so help accommodate them. I don’t want to spend 7000 on some beef and potatoes. Overall check in was easy. Wish there was easy access from the outside because our room was down stairs and it was difficult to carry luggage down there. Room was a decent size wish it was a little bigger, and bathroom had a heated flood which was nice. Overall found it overpriced for what it was but it was a decent stay.

Dear Guest, thank you for taking your time to review your stay with us. We really appreciate any kind of feedback and take it serious. As we are located on the very tip of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, next to the National Park, indeed we are the only location to have some food in the tiny village of Hellnar. Nevertheless there is a small village near by (Arnarstapi, 2 km distance) where there are 2-3 more restaurants or diner, which are open, depending on the season you are travelling. However, October is already off-season and many places as restaurants, hotels, guesthouses are closing down for the winter. As we are a 3 star-hotel with a onsite restaurant, it is very obvious that we do not have any facilities for cooking nor do we allow any cooking in our rooms due to fire hazard. If you wish to cook your own meals, please chose a guesthouse with cooking facilities or a holiday home / AirBnB as we are pretty sure that no hotel with an onsite restaurant worldwide will allow own cooking on their property. If you found our questions for breakfast or dinner pushy, we apologize. We only asked politely, if you have been interested in breakfast, since you booked a room with out breakfast or dinner since we are usually busy in the evening with dinner guests from our hotel and walk ins. We only wanted to make sure you get a table at a time which would suit you. However we thank you for your stay and hope you will have a great time traveling in Iceland. Best regards,

For the price and what Fosshótel presents itself to be, I expected more of the room and amenities. Comparing it to the other hotels I stayed in Iceland around the same price I would say the other hotels known/boutique ones impressed me more.

The staff was excellent. They rushed the cleaning of room to accommodate the lack of sleep we were experiencing. Not disabled friendly. No ramps and parking lot gravel. Cannot use cane in gravel, fear of falling. No space to move on either side of bed. Had to hold wall to squish thru.

Bestimmt das beste Hotel bei unserer Island Rundreise. Sehr freundliches Personal, super leckeres Frühstück und trotz eines Brandalarmes um 4:00 Uhr früh war unser Aufenthalt hier perfekt. Die Umgebung ist wunderschön und lädt zu vielen Spaziergängen ein. Beim nächsten mal Island werden wir auf alle Fälle dieses Hotel wieder buchen.

Beautiful location and friendlt staff at reseption, BUT :We had a room that was close to the washing mashines, they were noisy. Also, the door to the bathroom stuck several times, and the door to the shower didnt work properly. We told reseption immedeately, we were told they would speak with someone, nothing happend. Also the person serving in the dining room didnt know how to handle allergies, and there were no alternatives for bread and dessert for people with nut allergies. All in all: low standard compered to price: NOT worth the money

The hotel was fairly comfortable and it was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are very small and not much space for storage. Very warm in the rooms and windows only opened a small amount. Alarm went off in the middle of the night, which caused confusion as sleepy travelers stood in the halls and lounge with no direction. Might have been nice to offer complimentary breakfast due to us all getting disturbed sleep!

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt im Fosshotel. Es liegt direkt an der Küste. Unser Zimmer war mit Blick auf das Meer, was ich auf jeden Fall empfehlen würde. Das Abendessen war auch sehr lecker. Beim Frühstück hat es an nichts gefehlt. Das Personal war sehr nett. Die Dame an der Rezeption bei unserer Abreise war sogar aus Deutschland und hat uns auf die Orcas aufmerksam gemacht.
