Les chambres sont assez spacieuse et la literie confortable, même si cela semble un peu vieillot...(c'est peu être à la mode en Angleterre..?) Toutefois, pour ce tarif on y est bien mieux que dans une chaine d'hôtel style F1... Bref pour un séjour sans se ruiner sur Durham et sa région, je recommande vivement cet hôtel ! »

« Très bon hôtel. Extrêmement propre, et avec un personnel très aimable. Le petit déjeuner est un peu...bizarre...(self service dans le couloir), mais les chambres étant très grandes, avec des magasins très proches, on peut facilement acheter un petit déjeuner pas cher et revenir le prendre dans la chambre. Les chambres sont très grandes, cuisine, avec tous les ustensiles nécessaires. J'y retournerais sans hésiter. »

« We had issue with our original property. However, it was esybto communicate with the staff and they promptly moved us to a different property which is even much more better than the previous. Staff were courteous and responded to our needs promptly. Its been less than a few days we moved out. Hence, i am awaiting a refund of the deposit paid. « First time in Newbiggin and enjoyed it, the town has plenty of resources- a corner shop just round the corner and pubs, takeaways, cafes and a couple of restaurants, a small craft ale bar too. There’s going to be a new bar/café opening any day now just over the road down on the beach which will be handy (and as it’s low down shouldn’t cause any problems). « The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! « Arrived to find directions sent us to the wrong place. Arrived at apartments and checked in. Room on 2nd floor. No TV remote. 50% of LED spotlights not working. No light switch near bed (so had to stumble through dark room to bed). No reading lights. So eventually to bed. Next morning dived in shower (quite good) to find NO TOWELS. Very disappointed »

« We really enjoyed our stay at Amanda's house. The house is cozy and equipped with everything you need. The beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. The location is perfect. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and also to many local shops, bars and bistros. Newbiggin is the best base to explore many of the area's attractions: Lindisfarne, Newcastle or Yorkshire. Highly Recommended. »

« This house is outstanding. Elaine caters for everyone especially children and as we know when the kids are happy the adults can relax. We have stayed for the third time last weekend , it is such a central area with a beach minutes away also. We will be back certainly. »

« We stayed here for 2 nights for my 50th birthday. Jane was fantastic, decorating the cabin after a (very!) last minute request from my other half, and was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The cabin is beautiful and surprisingly spacious, equipped with everything you could possibly need. The views from the terrace and hot tub are beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have recommended it to friends, we will definitely be back! Thank you x »

« Very practically situated, right on the station. Charming young man and woman (from Greece) on the desk. An excellent English breakfast. But the once rather grand hotel is in need of a face-lift. The fridge supposedly contains complimentary items, but my fridge was empty. When I asked why, I was told that COVID was to blame. Strangely, the fridge contained sachets of milk--apparently in no danger from COVID. »

« Smartly renovated hotel with comfortable rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast (lacking cereals) was varied and copious. Excellent value for money. One criticism: some of the rooms (including mine) cannot be reached without having to go up and down stairs. This is a drawback for elderly clients with luggage. But the hotel is right in front of the railway station. »
