"Decent hotel overall which ticks all the boxes without quite reaching any particular 'wow' factor. The private loungers on the beach were a highlight and the beach is clean with good sand, clear water and great for swimming. Theres also 2 additional pools which are decent and not busy even in peak season when we visited. Being an adults only hotel meant that it was peaceful without noisy kids taking over, however there are a lot of screeching cicadas in the area which are a bit like sitting next to a car alarm especially on the room's balcony area. We opted for half board which was unnecessary as we went into town for dinner, the evening buffet was ok but not amazing, breakfast buffet was good though. From chatting to locals this is one of the bigger hotels in the area and one of the few adults only. Its well regarded locally but having been to varoius other 5 star places it wasnt exceptional, but for Chania its a very good option. The hotel is well located with a handy public bus service into old town; Chania town is very pleasant and has a lot of good places to eat but the best restaurants are away from the harbour. Overall an enjoyable stay."

"Great holiday. Easy check-in, great team of staff that took care of every need we had; including a late check out request. The room was lovely and clean, with water supplied daily. We enjoyed cooling off in our plunge pool too. The breakfast service and breakfast selection was great. The beach is beautiful, with calm clean water. There were plenty of available loungers, towels provided, you could order delicious quality food and drinks direct from your lounger, which is brought to you. The beach bar, Sushi restaurant/bar and main restaurantall all serve delicious, high quality dishes... the main restaurant's al a carte dinner menu and desserts were amazing, with beach views and relaxed entertainment for ambience! Equally, the room service was excellent too. I'd definitely return because the team and staff are great and so are the facilities with a relaxed vibe, and lots of quiet and peace if you want it."

"Can’t wait to go back. We were originally staying in a villa but the host cancelled a week before we flew out. The team at Okeanis Elysium couldn’t have been more helpful. We spoke to them directly and they were upfront about the remaining work being done at the hotel but sent pictures of the rooms, private pool and communal pool (all immaculate). We used their neighbouring hotel for breakfast which was great and despite the occasional noise of renovation work being done, we found most of it came from another building close by that had nothing to do with them. The staff were so friendly, we got to see images of how everything will look when 100% completed. Looks amazing and very high end. At the pace of the work being done during our 1 week holiday, they will be completely finished very soon and we can’t wait to go back again. Too many hotels have images from 10-15 years ago and look outdated when you arrive. This place is BRAND NEW!"

"We were warmly greeted everyday by the staff!! They were very helpful on every level! Our room came with a plate of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and oranges with a couple bottles of water in the fridge. Yum!! There was always a plate of cookies and candies at the front desk too. Very conveniently located with 1/2 block to the bus stop, and 1 block to the grocery store one way or the GORGEOUS beaches the other. There is one washing machine available after 4pm (free of charge), so that was appreciated. You needed to stay close by or you would lose your turn to use it and need to wait a loooonnng time. No restaurants nearby so you have to bus to eat a meal. There are some beer huts on the beach - we went to one and ordered a pizza the first night … it was a frozen pizza 😒. We tried, what we thought was a nice restaurant on the beach, had breakfast and then found out it was a resort!!! They charged us $70 Euro for my bowl of yogurt with fruit and my grandson’s plate of eggs and toast! Ooops! Wouldn’t do that again! So definitely be prepared to fix your own meal in the kitchenette or bus downtown for meals - great selection. (We kept all scrape peels and such to feed the chickens on the way to the beach. Loved it! Would definitely recommend it to stay."
