10/10 Excellent

"Excellent for a stop over"

Rose des Pyrénées

10/10 Excellent

"I had a very good stay here. My room was very comfortable and clean with good air-con. The hotel has a nice garden with a small swimming pool, perfect on a hot afternoon. I had 2 dinners - both excellent and good value. I did however think the breakfast was rather disappointing, would have been nice to have more choice and fresh jams etc, rather than plastic pots."

4* villa big private heated pool, deluxe hottub, natural setting airconditioning

10/10 Excellent

AX-LES-THERMES / IGNAUX Apartment 4 people in mountain residence

8/10 Good

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ginoles?

The best area to stay in Ginoles is the village centre, particularly around the historic church and the main square.

This area is the heart of Ginoles, offering a traditional Occitan village experience. The narrow, winding streets are lined with stone houses, and the main square often hosts local markets. You'll find a few small, family-run establishments and the village church, which is a central landmark. It's a quiet and picturesque setting, great for those looking for a peaceful retreat.

Couples seeking a romantic and tranquil escape will find the village centre ideal. The slower pace of life, the opportunity for quiet strolls through the historic streets, and the chance to enjoy local cuisine in a relaxed setting make it a great choice.

When is the best time to go to Ginoles?

The best time to go to Ginoles is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded.

Late spring offers comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Aude valley and the surrounding Cathar castles. The countryside is lush, and wildflowers are in bloom, superb for scenic walks or cycling trips. This period is particularly good for couples looking for a relaxed holiday with opportunities for outdoor activities without the peak summer heat.

Early autumn also provides excellent conditions, with temperatures usually between 18°C and 28°C. The grape harvest season brings a gentle buzz to the local vineyards, and the changing colours of the landscape are quite striking. This time of year is wonderful for those interested in wine tasting and experiencing local culinary traditions, as many village festivals celebrate the harvest.
