Lors de notre arrivée, nous avons été surpris que l'hôtel Roma, sans nous avertir avant notre arrivée, que notre réservation était annulée en raison de notre carte bancaire. Nous avons insisté en disant que nous n'avions reçu aucun mail de la part de Hotel.com et donc de ce fait l'hôtel Roma nous a trouvé 2 chambres au lieu d'une mais au même tarif.

Hotel propre et chambres spacieuses et modernes. Personnel affable. Petits déjeuners style américain copieux et bons. Prix élevé (188 €/par nuit pour un couple petit déj compris). Chambres insuffisamment insonorisées. Bruits extérieurs nocturnes en particuliers ambulances dont le garage est sur l'autre côté de la place Sta Maria Novella qui n'hésitent pas à lancer leurs sirènes à 2 ou 3 h du matin. Taxe de séjour exhorbitante (4 €/ personne par nuit !) dont je vais vérifier l'exactitude.

Proche de la gare mais dans un environnement histo
Le décor très riche de l'hôtel habille en fait un bâtiment simple; vous trouverez en entrant à droite le bureau d'accueil, à gauche le salon d'attente, au sous sol la salle des petits déjeuners et aux étages les chambres (pas d'espace extérieur...). Sa situation est idéale pour visiter Florence, proche mais pas trop près des sites touristiques ... Le petit déjeuner est correct sans plus... L'hôtel est très propre et très bien tenu. Les chambres dont les fenêtres donnent sur la place peuvent être bruyantes la nuit (vous renseigner à l'hôtel si vous êtes sensibles au bruit) Globalement notre séjour à l'hôtel ROMA à été satisfaisant.

Hôtel agréable, très proche des sites touristiques de la vieille ville. Très bon accueil par du personnel dévoué et sympathique. Seul petit bémol : mauvaise isolation phonique par rapport à l'extérieur, la Place Santa Maria Novella sur laquelle donnait notre chambre étant assez bruyante la nuit, jusqu'à des heures tardives...

Accueil sympa Fréquenté par de nombreux groupes de touristes. Chambe du 5 è étage murée; pas de fenêtre donnat sur la place (uniquement un vélux au plafond) alors que mon choix était la localisation de l'hôtel sur cette superbe place santa maria. Salle petit déjeuner en sous-sol, étroite et sans aucune fenêtre. Difficile de circuler quand les groupes de touristes petit déjeunent. A 23 heures 15 toutes lumières éteintes du lobby. Ca jète un froid en rentrant! En bref tout le charme de l'hôtel est à l'extérieur (sa facade et son environnement)!

This place was TERRIBLE - Dogs barking all night and staff refused to call police. Front desk staff was super rude with Lucci throwing the keys at me instead of handing them over. Do not stay here.

Florence is nice, hotel needs improvement.
Pros: Centrally located. Good maid service. Morning staff was very helpfull. Cons: Very warm room. Informed front desk. We were told to open the windows because the AC was closed. Unfortunately, it was noisy and a swarm of mosquitos entered and stung us continously. Pillows were very unconfortably thin and hard. We asked for more pillows but were told to use the ones in the closet, which were also very bad.

We are really sorry about that !As we explained, in November usually it is very cold and for that air condition is off. The same for the mosquitos, it is very strange that there are mosquitos in this period, but the temperature was very strange.We hope to meet you again and maybe it will be better that this stay !

I’ve stayed at many hotels across Italy and spent good money on this one because of the rating. Dirty with extremely uncomfortable mattresses. My VIP was a beautiful bottle of wine with two disgustingly dirty wine glasses. Location is 10/10 but the hotel my sister stayed at down the street was clean and much better and cheaper.

I believe some of the one star reviews are from a mismatched expectation and experience, due largely to the hotel advertising rooms that don’t match all of their offerings. Hopefully the hotel clarifies their room differences so guests will not be disappointed by the rooms, as personally I wouldn’t have paid the premium price here to stay in a classic room. I’ll try to share all my facts so that if you book you can best prepare for a great stay . Very cordial and polite staff who do their best to accommodate you, but you may be very unhappy if you end up booked in a nonrenovated room and there is no chance to change. It is important to know that the majority of photos (hardwood floors, white comforters, walk in showers) are of their newly renovated “modern” rooms, but you may land in a “classic” room instead. I recommend contacting the hotel in advance to confirm room assignment if this matters to you. The classic rooms are not renovated- tubs, carpet, yellow covers. We were initially checked into a “classic” and the ac did not work well to control the humidity. when I realized at 1130 pm there was NO blanket, the gentleman manning the front desk empathized with me but could not (would not?) leave his post to get a blanket. Between the damp, the cold, and the carpet, we woke up with runny noses and allergies. I look for hotels with hard floors for this reason. Great location in piazza novella, close to the train station. The rooms were spacious, the hotel was dated but beautiful. The only complaint we have was the AC in our room and throughout the hotel. The air was stagnant and muggy. Overall, Florence was beautiful!!

Hotel Roma is located in a really good spot of Florence if you don't plan on staying in the city very long. I was right next to a lot of public transportation, attractions, and everything was within walking distance. The desk staff was really good, the ladies helped my wife and I find a place to dine for the night as well as make reservations for us. All of the recommendations were great and really made our trip better. However, the beds were relatively hard, and uncomfortable, there was no air conditioning for the most part or the air circulation was poor. We had to open the windows up at night to let some cool air in, we were traveling in April so not really during the hotter months. We also could hear a lot of the noise coming from the streets. Overall, the experience at Hotel Roma was good and the only thing that really prevented me from giving this place a better review were the two hard beds.

Quirky charm, great service!
We had to arrive in Florence a day early unexpectedly and were lucky to get a last-minute booking at the Roma. Everyone at the hotel was great. In particular, Benedetta at the front desk assisted us via messaging (through hotels.com) and was super helpful when we arrived. We had a recently remodeled room that kind of mixed traditional and mid-century decor; a nice change from what chain hotels are doing now! Very comfortable and the bathroom was well-supplied. Really, the whole place has a quirky charm that we liked. We already had nights booked elsewhere, but the Roma would be a fine place to stay if you want to be on the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, near the train station.
