"PROS:
Room service was affordable, tasty, generous, and prompt. The gym matched photos; Pilates, cycling, yoga, and other classes provided workouts. The pool, sauna, hot tub, and steam room surpassed standard hotels. Breakfast had variety and coffee options. Staff moved us from a flawed 1st-floor wall view to a better 4th-floor view. The shower got very hot, TV channels were plentiful, and beds were exceptionally comfortable; even better than our Purple Mattress 3. Housekeeping was kind and helpful. Onsite Starbucks was convenient after breakfast; the pub/bar/restaurant had live music and activities.
CONS:
Key cards demagnetized, requiring 4–5 reactivations in two weeks. Gym/pool preregistration was excessive. The bottle station behind the gym was inconvenient at night, especially after Starbucks closed. The room felt damp before showers; weak ventilation left walls and floors wet. A three-foot partition allowed splashing. An elevator was serviced without notice, briefly trapping one of us; staff tested the fire alarm without warning. We could not call the front desk; app/web messages went unanswered for 30–45 minutes, and staff confirmed poor monitoring. All double-double rooms had showers; tubs would help. The AC dripped on heat. Little was walkable.
Issues with first room that caused us to request a change:
The view faced a wall; the TV remote lacked a Home button; two of five hanger mounts were broken; construction was loud; and bathroom and shower floors were filthy."
"I love this hotel . The location is perfect for a stay with a dog, right out onto the recreation ground and tramway for walks. Staff are really friendly and super helpful. Rooms are comfortable with every amenity set around a central courtyard. Would highly recommend. Close to all the towns shops and restaurants."
"We had a great 3 night stay and could not fault anything, the room was very clean and comfortable, all staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice and there was plenty of choice. We ate in the restaurant on two nights and although the menu is limited the food was very good. The bar area and selection of drinks was very good. The only thing I think is lacking is maybe a pool table and dartboard which would have given us something to do in the quieter times of our stay."
"This hotel is not easy to find, even by taxi , as it is so new ( opened Match 2026) that SatNavs don’t know about it or indeed about Cathedral Walk, the new pedestrian street where it is based and which surprisingly is an eight minute taxi ride from the Cathedral
Even when walking along the adjoining long- established Station St, there is no obvious sign that the restaurant you can see is part of the Indigo Hotel.
But persevere. Because the restaurant is good, particularly for breakfast which is cooked to order and most definitely not entirely self service. The rooms themselves seem generous in size, and very imaginatively designed Very comfortable beds.
The staffing is enthusiastic and pleasant, if occasionally a little amateur- when asked to order a taxi you are pointed to an Uber self serve machine, with no mention of the rank just 50 yards away.
Discretion about being able to contact other guests by internal telephone seems a bit overdone. We had booked two rooms simultaneously, beforehand, but there were real problems in finding out which room colleagues were in.
But overall this is a breath of fresh air which Gloucester almost certainly needs I hope the considerable investment that has been made into creating such a modern ambience proves successful."
"The hotel he getting back on its feet. It is immaculately clean, staff are very friendly and helpful.
It is an excellent low budget value gif money hotel. Wonderful proximity to the RSC"
