"Room was clean and bed comfortable. The place looked fresh, appeared recently redone. Heads up: a damage deposit of $50 in cash is required, credit card not accepted for damage deposit. So, if you don’t have $50 in cash, you will not be able to rent a room. And, when you check out, you have to wait while the manager goes to the room and makes sure there is no damage. "
"What a unique relaxing stay enjoying birding, kayaking, stargazing, sunsets off the bridge and watching the kids capture crabs galore. We loved the quirky cottage with its amazing large wrap around window views. Donna and Mike are caring hosts, offering plenty of tips on the area when asked. The island is conveniently located close to Yorktown and not far from Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. The kids also enjoyed both Yorktown and Jamestown beaches during the stay. "

"We had a very pleasant stay here. The waterfront was beautiful and quiet. It was the middle of Summer, so not surprisingly the temperature in the house was challenging to control. We appreciated the extra standing fans to help circulate the cooler air to the other rooms. The dining room table surrounded by windows was our favorite spot. We had a lovely dinner there. Hosts were responsive and instructions were clear. We would stay here again. "
"We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting super comfortable accommodations while escaping busy life and spending quality time with their family. This house is absolutely beautiful and the views from the upstairs and main deck are incredible. We brought kayaks and put them in off the shorefront. Lots of fishing! The living room area is perfect for the entire family to watch a movie in the evening. The kitchen is equipt with everything you need and large enough for everyone to join in on the cooking. Very clean and well maintained! Property manager texted to make sure we were able to access the property and has everything we needed. Very short distance to EVERYTHING for sights and activities. Would highly recommend!"
