THIS IS A HOTEL FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PARTY: The room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The staff at front desk are polite and helpfull, except for one employee which was very abrupt and rude twice during our stay. We overall enjoyed our stay. However the major turnoff is the rooftop bar. At night it is crowded and brings all kind of partying people in the lobby. The lobby become trashy and you have to share the elevator with those people. The elevator become crowded and you have to squeeze with everyone. We were curious and went to the rooftop but it is definitely a trashy crowded night club. Very loud music. There is no service, you have to line up to order drink. They also serve drink in plastic cup… The coffee shop also serve you with plastic cup no matter if you order for here or to go… that is not super eco friendly. If you want to party, this might be the place for you. If you are travelling with kids or want to have a romantic getaway, I would not recommend.

: The room was perfect. It is spacious, clean and nicely decorated in a retro pop britanic look. The service at front desk was courteous except with one interaction where the employee was a bit abrupt. -: The rooftop was disappointing in our point of view. We went there around 11pm thinking it was a nice fancy lounge but it is basically a trashy night club. It is full of people, no room to seat. The music is super loud so forget it if you want to have a conversation. There is no service, you have to line up to order at the bar. On top of that, drinks are served in plastic cup… Again related with the club, the lobby and the front porche of the hotel get really busy and dirty at night. Lots of teenager and noisy people from the club. You also have to share the elevator with those people partying and going to the club. With regard to the environment, again they should not use plastic glass at rooftop. Looks very cheap and not eco friendly at all. Same thing at the coffe shop, not matter if you take you drinks there or to go, it is serve in single use cup…

Cool vibe and good value for the rooms. Was a bit loud of an area and windows didn’t have shades to block out sun. Great gym and convenient coffee shop on premises. Would stay again.

Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Attention to Lots of little details makes this hotel stand out. Comfortable, clean, pretty and walkable to everything we wanted to see and do. Near the Lake. Easy to go for a run or walk in the parks and by the water. Easy parking by valet or nearby. Nice gym with easy access. Several places to sit with a cup of coffee and relax between sites. One thing to note, the rooftop is only open certain hours. Thanks everyone from DAndre for food sugggestions to the front desk for going above and beyond to get a luggage scale and then battery for us to speedy deliver for extra towels, you all made us feel super special and welcome

Comfortable and good size room with great amenities. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Loved Miss Ricky’s food and the view from the roof top bar. Had a drink at the 2nd floor bar as we waited for an event to finish before we went to the roof top. The bartender - Anastasia - was amazing!

The condition of both beds was terrible, as the mattresses had sunk in the middle. Because of this, my wife, son, and I never slept well. We woke up early with back pain. It is unacceptable for management to ignore this situation. I will never recommend the Virgin Hotel to anyone.

Bars and restaurants barely ever opened. Rooftop not available for most of the time on Saturday for a private party. The amenities are part of what you are supposed to get with this hotel, not an optional package. Was unable to use any of them because the bar was closed most of the time, didn’t have any snack and the rooftop closed. Will never return. Too bad because the rooms are decent. Please note lots of noise from metro/train on the block if on lower floors (can still hear on flore 17) and you can hear the rooftop music until 2am (from floor 17, which is 10 floors below the rooftop). So noise insulation is pretty poor in general.

Virgin has the room amenities down. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The gym is well equipped too. I expected to utilise the rooftop bar and 2nd floor library. My partner is handicapped, so I had planned on using hotel spaces for entertainment. Both were rented out the entire weekend. The lobby was chaos with all the revellers jockeying for elevator use. It was not pleasant. I complained to mgmt,. and their response was, “you should have been aware of our events”. Unacceptable. Lost me as a customer in Chicago. Lots to choose from downtown. Stay elsewhere. It’s not the workers. They were nice and gracious. Management needs training.
