Quelques jours à Chicago
Cinq jours à Chicago, localisation au top en plein centre de Chicago, mais chambre pas très confortable.. Pas de prise au niveau du lit, pas de lumière d'appoint non plus, et la douche c'est une chance sur deux, soit l'eau est froide soit très chaude, aucun moyen de régler la température.. bref ideal pour un court séjour seul ou entre amis.

Lieu de rencontre très animé
Bien placé en Down-Town, avec beaucoup de vie aux alentours ainsi qu'au rez-de-chaussée, les chambrées, en étage, n'en sont pas moins calmes et silencieuses pour autant, avec literies propres et confortables et salle de bain impeccable dans la chambrée (4 lits). Les casiers personnels sont grands et sécurisables (prévoir cadenas). L'accueil est aimable et bienveillant, avec présence 24/24 et restitution des 50 $ de caution sur la carte de crédit dès le check-out. Il n'y a néanmoins aucune vérification de la double (et même désormais triple) vaccination Covid à l'arrivée, alors attention pour les anxieux au risque de joyeuse contamination dans les chambrées. Excellent rapport qualité/prix en plein Down-Town.

The place served it's purpose for what i needed. The location was great. They dont actually have their own parking which you're a bit misled to think. The amenities are the very bottom of the barrel minimum. Like there isnt even a mini fridge or microwave for guest to use. The place is a bit out dated & could use better cleaning (the the shower curtaini notice should have either been replaced or washed. Seems it wasa there a long time due to the visible debri on the bottom of it). It is over all a nice place as far as atmosphere. Staff was pretty friendly. It's in a great location of you want to explore the area.

The staff is extremely rude, I called to confirm my reservation a day before arrival, the lady on the phone hung up on me and didn't take my calls after that. The staff in general is very rude, the area is unsafe even that it is near Michigan ave but that specific block is bad. rooms are so tiny and definitely doesn't worth the price they are charging for it. We asked for room service and they never did, we had to go every night to the front desk to get towels and toilet paper. mattress is bad and has bed bug. they have a Pop in the lobby area (i really don't know why) and it is very load at night which make it hard to sleep. Never stay there at all!

The hotel rooms are extremely small, to the point where there isn't really anywhere to put your luggage. There’s definitely no place to open it except on the bed which is gross after dragging it through Chicago. Additionally the toilet was making loud noises and waking us up, which staff did nothing to correct. There are NO FANS in the bathrooms which is actually illegal in some cities. I’m not sure why they aren’t worried about mildew or unpleasant smells for those in the room. The TV in our unit was not working and they tried to fix it but to no avail. They didn’t do much besides a quick call to the cable providers and never follow up. I asked to be moved to a new room on our last night so I could relax and watch tv, but I guess paying for amenities at Freehand doesn’t grant you access to them. I really regret being cheap and opting for this place. The only nice thing I could say is that it’s clean.

Nice old timey vibe. The rooms are small, but it’s in the perfect location. A parking garage is right beside the hotel, which makes life nice. No complaints.

Exceptional staff, ready to help with any request! Clean and quite room, great coffee. It's a very good bed. The only minus was that drying didn't work and I had to pack my clothes in the suitcase.

When I walked in, I was not greeted and was waiting for the man to finished his phone call regarding his pizza order. he asked for my name, the person stated he couldn't find it. When I informed him I had a booking confirmation, he responded, "Well, I can't find you here in our system." Then he asked to see my ID. At last, he located my reservation. Then had a cool little talk. His tone change a little after fixing his pizza order. On my last day, I told the man at the front desk about finding a used tissue paper next to my bed when. He responded “It's clean, they always clean it," was his smug reply. Definitely not what I expected. I mean I did actually find a used or tissue paper near the bed.

This place is quirky, affordable, and gets the job done. No fridge in the private rooms and they are quite small. Overall tho for the price it’s more than enough for a solo traveler or a couple with minimal needs. Had a pleasant stay there and the bar is pretty great, lobby is nice.

Pretty good, hadn't stayed in a hotel before. Not picky a customer, enjoyed my 1 night there. Reception staff were nice and easy to deal with. 7.5/10.

I loved it! I met a lot of friendly people. The staff was so welcoming, and they were checking on us and helping our stay to be more cozy. We had problem with the airconditioner but they fixed it right away. Other problem we had is that in the last 2-3 days of our stay, when we showered, the water was going and coming back...it was kind of weird but not a huge issue since we could shower. I burned twice in one of the days but I got used to it and knew later how to work with it

Quirky some things nice like bathroom. Some things old like carpet in hall, wall hanging. Curtain didn’t cover window. It was quiet, comfortable. Hot water came right away to shower.
