"We had a wonderful time at this cabin located in the Chippawa National Forest. The only suggestions I would have is to have more lighting throughout the house, especially on the stairways. Also be sure to have enough cooking utensils. Other than that, the cabin was very nice."

"These cute cabins were perfect for our group. We had 6 adults and 3 under 3. The shallow water out 50 yards from shore is perfect for littles to get comfortable in the water! We really appreciated the extra chairs for sitting around the campfire or on the dock. We also appreciated the firewood! We caught some nice fish just off shore where the water got deeper. It was great to have access to the canoe and row boat. Our kids said it was the best fish fry ever!"

"We had an absolutely fantastic week at The Refuge! The cabin is adorable, the perfect size for two. The lake access was better than expected. The lawn and shore were flat - none of those steep, zig-zagging stairs! The dock was perfect for fishing for large-mouth bass and perch. We enjoyed the lake toys, and I got to kayak for the first time. We loved how quiet and isolated the cabin is! No noisy neighbors, and we only saw pontoon and fishing boats on the lakes, none of those annoying speed boats or jet skis.The loudest parts of the stay were the haunting concerts that the wolves and loons put on every night. It's a humbling feeling to know that people have been listening to that song for millennia.The night sky was magnificent! I saw more stars out a sliver of the bathroom window than I've ever seen in my Minneapolis backyard! Talk about feeling small!We had a couple of delicious dinners at Trailside Restaurant and made several runs to the Antler Store for ice and other necessities. The temp was in the 90s most days, and the window A/C and two fans were very appreciated!The only downside was the lack of curtains in the living room and kitchen. The blazing morning and afternoon sun turned the living space into a sauna. It was 87 inside one afternoon! We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation, and can't wait to come back!"

"This is a great space for a family get away with a large, open indoor area and room to sleep 10. Right out the back door is a walk out patio overlooking a small private beach, dock, boat, a floating dock with a slide and more! The host was easy to get a hold of and was very helpful. He was great to work with!"

"Property was the perfect cabin experience! Our family enjoyed our stay as well as our dog! It is right on the water, which made it perfect for boating, paddle boarding, fishing, and swimming. We appreciated the amenities of a full kitchen, fridge, and washer/dryer. My favorite was the porch where we hung out to play games, share meals, and watch the beautiful sun sets."
