You have to manage your expectations. That being said me and my partner found this to be the perfect base for our Byron Bay stay. We stayed in a private cube double room and to be honest it's everything we needed. We've stayed in 5 star hotels before and I can honestly say the bed in this hostel was one of the comfiest beds we've ever slept in! We had a fridge to store food and drink & even a kettle with tea, coffee & milk. Please be warned the rooms are not air-conditioned but we did have a big fan on the wall that helped massively! We can't comment on kitchen/ cooking facilities as we did not make use of these. Bathrooms are perfectly functional but could do with some tlc and a more regular cleaning schedule. We made sure we took antibac wipes in with us every time & always where you flip flops in the shower lol! The room was overall clean but could have definitely done with a deeper clean such as upholstery clean & walls/skirtings/Windows. Overall we had a lovely stay here and found the staff super friendly and helpful!
