"Our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington was disappointed. We’re honestly confused about how it is rated as a 5-star property. We appreciated being assigned an accessible room upon arrival. However, this was the only hotel during our trip that did not respond to our request for a shower chair. The hotel looks quite different from the photos and feels noticeably older, with an unpleasant smell that made us uncomfortable. Several facilities in the room were not well maintained—water overflowed during showers, the toilet required multiple flushes, and the air conditioning was not effective. Service was inconsistent. We received a warm welcome at check-in, but later interactions felt less welcoming. The morning staff were lovely, while the night shift, who seemed to be management - felt so cold and unwelcoming,. Breakfast was average and did not meet expectations based on the reviews. The only positives were the convenient location and the comfortable bed. Overall, this felt more like a 3 star hotel. "

"Perfect"

"Friendly helpful staff. Clean room. Coffee maker in lobby as well as the room. We stayed here twice on our NZ trip and the second time were upgraded to an apartment style room (separate bedroom). Both stays - we appreciated the laundry and detergent in the room. Central to all Wellington attractions - cable car, beehive and harbour walks. Easy access by the AX airport bus. Management couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommended."

"Was very good , there was an empty water bottle behind the curtain from previous guests , but rest was all good. Staff were lovely, and room service as awesome. A great place to stay , will be back. "

"Rooms are reasonable clean with daily make ups. Somehow the system hasn’t showed we paid for the breakfast and it takes two days to update the system."

"The apartment was very good, clean, comfortable had all you need for a short stay and making simple meals. Very handy for central Wellington and parking on site. Helpful staff and clean rooms. Don’t expect a view, its surrounded by multistorey carparks and the back of other hotels. Biut very few hotels in Wellington do have a good view. It was pretty quiet most of the night, as it's tucked away from the bars and clubs. However, what spoilt an otherwise excellent stay was being woken early (4 and 5am) by the sound of delivery trucks revesing warnings going off multiple times as they made deliveries to the hotels behind. "
