When you envision a mountain vacation, this is it! This cozy cabin in the woods is cute as a button. Not too big, not to small, secluded feel, but not secluded at all! There's woodwork throughout, a stone front gas log fireplace, a cozy living/kitchen/dining space plus a sunroom with a wall of windows looking out into the woods. Enjoy the sun-soaked deck during the day and lounging around the fireplace at night! And while it feels secluded, the cabin is on Sugar Mountain, so it is very convenient to all activities, attractions and events.

What's nearby:
Sugar Mountain Resort is just steps away from this condo, where you'll find an outdoor skating rink, snow tubing, mountain bike tours and a full golf course. There are plenty of restaurants close by, including The Pedalin’ Pig and Elevations Restaurant. Sightseeing is plentiful in this area as well, such as the Foggy Mountain Gem Mine, Mile High Swinging Bridge and Grandfather State Park.

Loved the gas fireplace and the cozy sunroom! Had coffee in the recliner out there every morning for the sunrise! Fenced in area in the yard is great for dogs. House was clean and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Had a great stay!

Deck is awful

Deck at property is very dangerous if you have kids or pets . Cannot believe they are renting this property with a deck like this. Also furniture on deck is awful, upstairs smells bad and downstairs smells like mold even though they are running a humidifier. Terrible property. Dogpoop on porch and bags of dog-pop left in yard.

Great location!

Overall the property was fabulous because of the location! First impression all seemed very clean but once settled we realized it hadn’t been perfectly cleaned. We also didn’t have an outside trash receptacle to put our trash in when leaving. We would’ve appreciated direction in which baseboard heat dial worked for which room and the fireplace did not work. More (clean) pots and pans would be appreciated for when not going out to eat. The sunroom was our favorite room!! Beautiful!

The only problem we had was with the digital door locks and getting in the house.. The two key boxes on the right and one on the left was a little confusing. But house keeping came out and explained how to get into the house. There is a faucet in the kitchen that is difficult to turn all the way off. It keeps leaking. Otherwise everything was great.

Great Fall Break

We spent several days here over Fall Break (mid-October). Clean and convenient property with two great viewing decks. Close to Boone, Linville Falls, Blue Ridge, etc. Overall, we had a great experience.

Disappointing, dirty, dusty, moldy, neglected

Disappointing to say the least. The house has obviously been neglected over the years and the owners have ignored years of feedback from other renters. For starters, there was cobwebs and dead bugs in every room, mold in the bathroom, dried and sticky coffee on the kitchen counter top, and animals in the walls and ceiling. But it was the dust and mold that left us feeling sick. Also, most of the lights didn’t work. Either the switches are broken or the bulbs were burned out. This left the house dark and us frustrated. It had the feel of an abandoned home. I know the owners say to contact the management company but we paid with the expectation that these details would and should be taken care of. Not our responsibility to point out your incompetence. No chance of a repeat stay here.

A lovely little cabin

Very well appointed, has everything you could possibly need. For those of us of the older generation, the steps were a problem, also getting in and out of the deep tub. WiFi connection badly in need of update. We loved the sun porch and we enjoyed the comfortable furniture, including a very comfortable bed. It would be helpful if the owner would write up a guide as to which of the two remotes to be used for the television. We ended up using one remote to turn the tv off and on and adjusting the volume, the other for channel selection. Was confusing, frustrating. We had beautiful weather and we enjoyed touring the area and viewing the colorful leaves. The evening of our arrival we notified Vrbo of a broken arm of bedroom ceiling light. It was repaired the next day. Signs of mildew around the bathtub were a bit disconcerting.

Great Stay

Positives:We loved this cabin—it met all of our needs and is in a wonderful location. We were 10 minutes to grandfather mountain and 15 minutes to Boone! We loved having the options of the living room, sunroom and deck. The inside furniture was super comfy! Slight Negatives: NO AC- although we did very much appreciate the fans located in the rooms, but we had to leave the doors open to get some air flow to feel sticky mid afternoon. And only other complaint was a musty smell in lower level bedroom (and towels were also left in washer and smelled extremely sour upon our arrival)

Nicely appointed and conveniently located. Close to amenities but quiet " in the woods" atmosphere. Saw mother doe and 2 fawns, wild turkey, groundhog during stay.
