We brought all of our meals to cook at the house and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed sitting on the porch looking at the water in the evening. My wife and I have stayed throughout the Beaufort/Harkers Island area over the years, and this "Down East" cottage is the best of the best! It is simplicity, privacy, and world-class views rolled into one. The property is built for relaxation. It has a beautiful covered dock, a screened-in porch for evening enjoyment, and a small beach area. Inside, you will find beautiful prints and artwork describing the "Down East" way of life. The open concept lets in plenty of light, and enhances views of the Core Sound. The furniture was very comfortable, and the cottage was very clean. The cottage is very private, enjoyed sitting on the porch with the water views. At night, stars and the moon were beautiful! Floated and sunbathed at the dock area during the day. The only negatives, the house has a lot of personal items in it. A little worried we would mess up a sentimental item. Learning some history of Linda and the cottage was interesting... it was almost like she was with us! It is a little drive from Beaufort to get there, but worth it.
