"Stumbled on this little gem thanks to Expedia. Was just a single night, family of 4, heading to Yosemite. Owners have done a wonderful job renovating this older motel. Beds and bedding extremely comfortable.Nice large bathroom. Ceiling fan in main room. And there is smthng to be said for being able to back up your car trunk right to your room door. Only thing I didn’t like was that all lighting was ceiling (ceiling fan and can lights); no desk or sconce by nightstand. Otherwise, so happy with it we returned after Yosemite en route to our next destination. This hotel is a great rest and recovery stop after wilderness camping and roughing it outdoors"

"I was coming into town very late and they were cool with checking in at midnight. They were also very accommodating with letting me do a late checkout. I’m glad the ice machine and A/C were working, this was mid to late July, super hot. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. It was the perfect layover to head to Yosemite the next day. Will definitely stay again if I’m ever in the area. Thank you!"

"Best Hotel and service in Merced.... sheets and bed are suuuper clean and smell fresh...I have to say I was very impressed with them and the price 👌 I highly recommend. "

"It was overall a great stay but my 1st room had a smoke detector beeping every 10-15 seconds and was very loud. I couldn't relax with the sound as it was ear-piercing. Told lady at the front desk and she said it was normal for it to do that. Knowing how a smoke detector works I told her no it's not, it's a low battery sound, can you please fix it. She said the same thing again about it being normal so I requested a new room which was given to me. No other rooms had alarms doing that. So I didn't like the fact that I was told something to me that was totally untrue and that I had to deal with it through the night. If I wouldn't have gotten a new room I'd have asked for a refund and went to the nearest Motel. Overall everything was cool and I was thankful that I got a new room to sleep comfortably. I got the room due to me having stress as the highway 99 was terrible that day 7/3/25 and I got bad anxiety from driving and had to stop. My route from Sacramento to Bakersfield would have taken a total of over 8 hours to drive. Thank you Motel 6 for accommodating me for that night. I slept great!! "
