« Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh. »

« The property is a beautiful historic home with fun trap doors and hiding places from the original owner's tea smuggling days. It has a wonderful open living and dining area with an expansive view of the town of Eyemouth. We had easy access to restaurants in town (we watched the fresh fish delivered daily), scenic hiking trails and the golf course on the hill behind the house. « The house was mostly comfortable but needs some upkeep. The communication with the host was a challenge and they did not reply to most messages (even an acknowledgment of receipt would be okay). One of the showers we could not adjust the temperature, 2 of the showers had mold. One of the biggest challenges was trying to cook as the cookware is very worn and some of it unusable. « The house is very comfortable. It is in a quiet neighbourhood close to the ocean. Lots of room, lots of dishes etc.If I could make a few suggestions, they would be: more kitchen towels( one for 5 people is not enough) a drying rack for clothes as there is a washer but no dryer. As well, the pots that have non stick coating need to be replaced as the coating is peeling. Rail service to Edinburgh is very reliable and fast. « Stayed fir 3 nights. With 10 adults. Lovley big house. Plently of room Comfortable beds. Some paintwork a.bit.shabby which was a shame. Only down side was it stated a clockroom i thought that.meant a downstairs toilet but it was just a place eto hang coats.
