"We came to Zen and Pine Resort to hike Mt. Yushan. Although that wasn’t possible due to road closure, on the manager’s advice, we instead visited nearby Sun Moon Lake and hiked Mt. Shuishe, which was amazing and rescued our whole trip. I can’t say enough good things about the management of this property. "I took the family (wife and three teenage children) and we stayed for 2 nights in single room with 2 king size beds. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and both the buffet breakfast and dinner were nice. The shuttle bus to the train station in the morning made it easier to travel to see the sunrise, and with the hotel located in the centre of the park, it was close to all the main walks. The hotel appeared a bit outdated, even though we were in the modern building. One disadvtange was the bath room was open style and it would have been nice to put a door or blinds. Apart from that, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Alishan. As an aside, the hotel organise a private taxi to pick us up from Chiayi to Alishan Hotel, and then from the Alishan hotel to our next destination in Tainan. The driver was excellent and very knowledgeable of the Alishan area, with many good recommendations. "

"Extremely helpful and welcoming staff. They helped us navigate the bus schedule during our stay and schedule a taxi to catch the Alishan sunrise. It is very helpful to know some Mandarin if staying here, but one of the ladies knows enough English to help if you don't. The property is gorgeous. It is incredibly fragrant from very lush tea fields and there are coffee trees growing too. The scenery is stunning-- the sunset on our balcony was amazing. Our room was very comfortable with a balcony that overlooked the tea fields and valley below. It was very quiet, since none of the rooms share walls! Each building is free-standing, which makes it very private. I definitely recommend having a car if staying in Fushan since the bus schedule in Alishan in general is limited. Overall, this was a wonderful stay and I will absolutely be back. Next time, with a car! A huge thank you to the staff, their wonderful farm cats, and the sweet dog Ruru!"

"The hotel is very clean and simple, located inside their tea shop. You can smell the tea in the hallways and stairs and it smells amazing! There's not much nearby and you'll have to go to the nearest little town for needs. The walk is a bit dicey along winding mountain roads with no sidewalks, but there is a bus you can take for 2 stops too. The people who work there/own the hotel are incredible, they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! They picked up our luggage at the nearby town when we arrived a bit early so we didn't have to take them around and gave us rides back and forth whenever we needed. It was too kind! They also helped us figure out bus schedules and how to go places. The room is also equipped with everything you need, including snacks, water, toothbrushes, razors..etc there is water, fridge, and microwave that you can use too. Overall it's a nice midway point between chiayi and alishan if you don't want to stay in alishan and also find chiayi too far. Would recommend!"
