« Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them. On the hole, everything else was excellent. « Arrived to a bank of motorbikes which was a bit intimidating but after that (they left after 5 mins) everything was A1👌 Good sunday roast; room tastefully decorated; shower was great but best of all was the quality mattress and feather pillows - slept easily which is unusual for me in hotels. Lovely ambience throughout the hotel too. Stylish & excellent stay for the price point. Would def go back. »

Un personnel charmant et à l'écoute, un "english breakfest" copieux, la possibilité de manger sur place le soir et de profiter de l'ambiance "Pub" si britannique bref un endroit à recommander. Surtout ne pas chercher à entrer en voiture A Durham le "park and ride" est très bon marché et le bus vous dépose en plein centre ville (pour 2 £ par jour) »

« Stayed for 1 night in the stables as a single female. The accommodation is an add on to the pub Royal Oak next door. The room was clean and a good size, what was really impressive was the facilities- a microwave with plates/cutlery, toaster, washing up equipment, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a fridge. « We went for a family stay and it did not disappoint! Warm cosy and we were welcomed with fresh bread and treats left for us. Karen came down to check everything was ok. They also cleared snow from the awning over the hot tub! Great hosts this is are 2nd visit as a family »
