"When I arrived I never got a family room which I wasn’t happy about"

"Shabby (but not chic), poorly maintained. Dirty, loose carpet on the stairs. Paper peeling from ceiling in sitting room and bedroom. Dripping basin waste in bathroom and mould in shower. No hot water one morning, cleaners sent to inspect and declared it working which it wasn’t. Plumber arrived in the evening to fix. Bed hard and uncomfortable but not as hard and lumpy as the pillows. No room in wardrobe to hang clothes as a number of duvets had been stuffed in it. Three drawers of a five drawer unit full of towels and bed linen for four other guests we didn’t have. All drinking glasses were dirty and fridge door had sticky bits stuck to the handle. Kitchen mixer tap was loose and the whole thing turned, with difficulty. Peeling paint and cracked windows. Outside area had several bins which were overflowing for the two weeks we were there (not emptied) and rubbish all around the exterior. When we booked the description of the flat did not include a hike up a steep staircase two stories high. Communication with the property managers was appalling and almost impossible. Star rating = 0 not recommended to anyone at all. Expensive and grotty, do not book."

"This is a nice place and substantially matches the listing description, but could use improvement in the basic essentials. Our party of four adults staying for six nights arrived to find only two partial rolls of toilet paper. There is a washer (but no detergent), a clothesline (but only one clothespin), dish soap (but no dish towels), and a kitchen rubbish bin (but no rubbish bags/liners). I checked with the host about these items and they quickly replied to let me know that they typically only provide two rolls of toilet paper and that there are plenty of stores around the area. The house was clean and presentable with the exception of a dirty baking sheet or two in the oven and a debris-clogged drain gully outside we had to clean because it overflowed when washing dishes. Bedroom 1 (referred to in a previous review as the "second bedroom") is very small and a challenge for two because you can only access one side of the bed, and the blinds on the window did not prevent light from entering the room when the sun rose every morning at 4am. If you don't need the small bedroom and don't mind buying toilet paper and rubbish bin liners for your stay, I think you will be happy here."
