Jan 5, 2025 Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### This is a scam This was the worst vacation rental experience I have ever had, and I am extremely disappointed with VRBO and Vacasa. One, the VRBO online listing was a lie. What was sold to us as a premium "second floor" unit with a kitchen was in fact a basement floor (as they gimmickly call the lobby "third floor" with only a microwave and a mini wine fridge. Therefore, our plan of cooking meals as a family during our year end holidays were replaced with dining out every single meal for over a week. Two, the unit is recently converted from a basement office, and as a result, had issues everywhere. Heat didn't work in one bedroom, so our children had to sleep in living room for 3 nights. Cell signal and wifi were too weak to stream movies (or even refresh web pages quickly.) Just minor issues everywhere. Three. Communication is entirely broken. VRBO/Vacasa reps that I reached out to pre-arrival with questions consistently provided incorrect answers (on things like "can I leave my bags in the lobby or storage if I arrive early" with a "no, you need to go to a storage facility in town where you can pay to get a locker"). I have written countless emails and in-app messages to folks about the above issues, and it feels like no one talks to anyone else. (Only exception is - staff and other residents on property were wonderful but it was hard to fully enjoy it while dealing with non-stop issues through the entire stay like this.) I am never going to trust these portals in the future. ##### John K.
