"This was a very enjoyable stay in a beautiful location. A Great combination of mountains and ocean. The house was very clean, neat, and tidy. Towels, laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, and shower products are provided. While this is a compact Japanese house, it felt very spacious to me. A nicely appointed kitchen, clothes washer and dryer, a big TV with sound bar, and multiple places to sit and enjoy the great views. There are a few things to keep in mind to ensure this property is a good fit. The drive to this location is about 45 minutes from Iwakuni. I felt it was a pleasant drive, but traffic gets tight during rush hours. The road leading to the house from the main road is steep, single-lane, and winding. Use a low gear and go slowly the first few times, and things will be fine. I think it would be best to arrive the first time during the day to get accustomed to the drive. Parking was not an issue for me as other reviews have noted. There are two spots close to the property stairs and a larger parking area about 100 feet away. "

"This was by far the nicest room/resort we have stayed in. After being cramped in many Japanese hotels and ryokans, this was much much larger with three queen/full size beds, a 65" TV and an outdoor bath (mineral salts available in the lobby). However, please understand that as this location is very remote, dining options in the area and transportation may be limited. This may be why we didn't see any foreigners there? However, they do provide pick-up service to and from the Shin-Iwakuni station depending on the room you're staying in given you contact them at least three days in advance. Although our Shinkansen was unexpectedly delayed by two hours due to rain/lightning, they patiently waited for our arrival and did not leave us stranded. Perhaps the only downside was that we only stayed two nights as I felt we could've done with some more downtime and taking advantage of the amenities including the bikes and SUPs. I hope to return again soon, staying for a longer time next time. Thank you Marissa Resort for giving us an incredible and memorable vacation!"
