Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Thuckalay?
The best area to stay in Thuckalay is generally around the town centre, particularly near the Thuckalay Bus Stand and Padmanabhapuram Palace.

The town centre is the main hub of activity in Thuckalay. It's where you'll find most of the local shops, eateries, and essential services. The roads here are well-connected, making it easy to get around. The area around the Thuckalay Bus Stand is particularly convenient for onward travel, and it's a short walk to the historic Padmanabhapuram Palace.

For families, staying near the Padmanabhapuram Palace is an excellent choice. Being close by means you can easily visit the palace at your leisure, and there are often local vendors selling snacks and souvenirs nearby, adding to the experience.

Couples looking for a convenient and accessible base will find the area around the Thuckalay Bus Stand ideal. It provides easy access to local transport for exploring Thuckalay itself and for day trips to nearby attractions.
When is the best time to go to Thuckalay?

The days are generally sunny with comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

Couples looking for a relaxing holiday will appreciate the mild weather, great for leisurely strolls through the palace grounds or enjoying the local cuisine without the discomfort of extreme heat. The cooler evenings also make dining out more enjoyable.

For travellers interested in cultural experiences, visiting during this time often coincides with local festivals, offering a deeper insight into the regional traditions.
