Renaissance Seattle Hotel

8/10 Good

"Check-in staff was helpful. Room was clean and the location is downtown near plenty of shops and restaurants. Microwave was only available on one floor. Ice was only available on 3 floors. Breakfast buffet was $34 plus 20% add on fee and 10.5% tax. Our breakfast for two was $85. Gymnasium was adequate but leg machine was broken. Bar was nice with helpful bartenders just expensive."

"Horrible stay. Will not be going back. If you wanna check in a bit early they charge you extra, one of their two elevators didn’t work the entirety of my stay so everyone is using one elevator. No one told me before checking in that they didn’t have working A/C, the bathroom doesn’t have a fan to vent, no one from maintenance answers the phone. Called the front desk three times to ask where the ice machine was and no one answered to phone. Asked the front desk in person about the A/C and was told “we left a card in your room about it” which is apparently the reverse side of the card that explains how to turn on your A/C. Didn’t think to turn it over just to be told…don’t worry about instructions to use the A/C; it doesn’t work anyway. Staff had a lack of empathy when I told them my room was too hot. They said they would bring a portable fan after I complained…which they never did. Also, if you want your room cleaned that extra too. Everything there seemed à la carte and nothing seemed to work. Never in my life will ever go back to that hotel."

"Very centrally located. Especially when taking the bus from Vancouver, BC and getting off at the Convention Centre. Room temperature was cold and I didn’t want to start fiddling with the thermostat. Bearable though. Things that need improving: soft towels (like sandpaper) and 2 ply toilet paper. I don’t think the hotel saves any money by using the cheap stuff since more of it has to be used."

"I was pretty disappointed when we got there. We checked in and headed to our room to find out that the bathroom and entrance was filled with equipment/tools. We had been traveling all day and with a toddler we just wanted to get to the hotel and relax. We had to go back downstairs and ask for a new room. I was also told housekeeping would come every other day and they came ONLY ONE TIME during our six day stay! We had to ask for additional towels, bar soap, etc. My family and I love staying at Element Hotels, this was the first time we ever encountered any issues."

"It was great except that the cleaning person on the 18th floor didn't remove food left by other guests in the ice machine closet. There were stacks of pizza boxes with half eaten food and other plates of food near the ice machine. I was concerned it could attract rodents. Generally, everything else was great."

"Don't stay here! There are other better places near the airport. This motel houses homeless people. It allows weed smoking and cigarette smoking throughout the motel. Dogs are everywhere barking and the whole place smells. We heard airplanes all night. The carpet is very dirty and our sheets were dirty and stained. Also stained towels and a filthy mini fridge. We are lucky we didn't get bed BUGS. Don't stay here!!!!"
